Not being able to control excessive feelings of worry over daily situations is one of the common signs of GAD. This condition, once started, usually lasts more than 6 months.

Not being able to cope with everyday stress, medical conditions or medications can trigger GAD. Symptoms will be different per individual but most victims experience sleeping difficulties, hot flashes, frequent urination, twitching, and trembling.

Some cases only require certain lifestyle changes to reduce stressors, while others may need medication and regular counseling.

Obsessions and compulsion symptoms can appear together or individually, but most of the time they will both be present. Their combination creates a situation where the symptoms satisfy and drive one another, creating a vicious cycle.OCD usually begins at a young age and is generally considered a lifelong condition.

It can worsen when an individual is exposed to too much stress. Severity can vary throughout their lives and extreme cases can result in physically disabling consequences.

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Post traumatic stress disorders are triggered by traumatic events. Symptoms include nightmares, flashbacks, and memory loss on certain events related to the source of trauma. They can also be easily startled and will be always on guard as if they are in constant danger.

Emotional detachment and self-destructing behaviors make normal living challenging for those experiencing PTSD. It can be hard for victims to connect with family and friends while they are in a state of emotional dullness.
