Jodhpur is a paradise for tourists. Spending your weekend here, you will end up making amazing unforgettable memories that will last you a lifetime of nostalgia and stories to tell your friends.

Spending a holiday in Jodhpur is no less than a dream come true for those who want to experience the true culture and tradition of Marwar. If you are planning to spend a weekend in Jodhpur, here’s a 3-day itinerary to guide your travel in the city and make the most of your time here.

Day 1

The first sightseeing location that you need to visit in the city is the pride and identity of Jodhpur. Hire a taxi service in Jodhpur and visit the Mehrangarh Fort in the morning to get accustomed to the culture and tradition of Jodhpur. Get to know about the historic past of the city. There is a small market on the outer gates of the Fort where you can find various cultural symbols. You can also enjoy Folk Music by the local artists who are usually sitting at the entrance of the Fort.

Close to the fort is Jaswant Thada. Bright white marble palace, built with the intention to replicate the famous Taj Mahal. The palace and its surrounding gardens are the gems of Jodhpur. The place has now become a popular photography site due to its picturesque scenes and hues that it reflects during the sunset.

In the evening, you can visit the Clock Tower and its Market. Catch the beautiful colors with which the clock tower is illuminated at night, and shop for your favorite articles nearby. You can also enjoy a camel ride here. Don’t forget to try Makhaniya Lassi at Mishrilal and Mirchibada at Shahi Samosa.

Day 2

The next morning, if you leave early, you can hire a cab service in Jodhpur and give a visit to the brilliant gardens of Mandore ruins. The earlier home of the rulers of Marwar. The entire premises is rich in flora and fauna, there are several monuments including cenotaphs, temples, a palace, and bridges across streams, which are full of beautiful fountains and marine life.

Close to the Mandore Gardens lies Kaylana Lake, which is the famous sunrise or sunset point in Jodhpur. Here you can spot various migratory birds or a variety of beautiful flowers. You can also engage in boating activities or just sit by the lake and watch the sun sink.

Day 3

The third day should not be the leftover portion of your journey. It should be equally memorable and enjoyable. You can utilize your last day in the city for getting to know Jodhpur’s history better. Hire a taxi in Jodhpur to visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace and Museum to get an insight into the culture and lifestyle of the people of Marwar in the earlier days. The Museum also exhibits various weapons and ammunitions used during wars by the Rajputana soldiers, as well as artifacts from the history, such as daily use objects, garments, tools, and equipment used by the royal family as well as people.

One-third part of the palace has been turned into a lavish 5-star hotel managed by the famous Taj Group of Hotels. Here, you can enjoy a nice meal with incomparable hospitality.
