Identify if it’s mating season. The only way you can guess if your parrot is holding eggs is if you know, for a fact, that it’s mating season. Here are the signs of parrot mating season:
- Shows signs of affection (wing flapping, tail wagging)
- Bites more often than usual
- Is more territorial
- Plucks their feathers (female parrots especially)
- Screams incessantly
These are the signs that your parrots are mating, not that your parrot is holding eggs. The way to tell is to notice if she is nesting. If you identify that it’s mating season, and you notice that Polly is building a nest, she’s getting ready for her babies. Keep in mind that a bird can lay unfertilized eggs, but she won’t pay attention to them.
