Initially, the Toyota Fortuner was brought in as a CBU unit from Thailand with a 2.7G variant that comes with standard trim (with fabric seats) and luxury (with leather seats and premium audio), while the 2.7V variant with 4×4 drives only comes in luxury trim.

In 2007, the Toyota Fortuner 2.5G variant came with a 4×4 drive system and a 2,500cc diesel engine with 101 HP power paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, and for the first time the Fortuner was assembled in Indonesia. Two years later, this model received a choice of a 4-speed automatic transmission and an additional TRD Sportivo body kit. In 2014, Fortuner comes in three variants, namely G, V and TRD Sportivo.

Two years later, to be precise in February 2016, the second generation Fortuner came in three variants, namely G (Diesel, with automatic and manual transmission options, and a choice of 4×2 and 4×4 drive systems), VRZ (Diesel, automatic transmission, 4×2 and 4×4 drive options) , and SRZ (Gasoline engine, 2WD).

In 2017, the VRZ and SRZ variants exclusively received the optional TRD Sportivo bodykit, which was made even more frightening with several changes introduced at the 2019 Gaikindo International Indonesia Auto Show.

Exterior

Adhering to the concept of “Stylish and Confidence”, in general, the exterior design of the second generation Toyota Fortuner looks much classier than its predecessor. Starting from the front, the grille design looks very sturdy with three horizontal lines that look very firm, which is combined with a chrome finish (or glossy black with the TRD Sportivo bodykit).

For the rear, the second generation Fortuner looks more dynamic with a pretty sharp model, in the middle there is a chrome rear garnish that creates a luxurious impression, the luxurious aura is also reinforced by a clean rear bumper design, with a reflector being the only ornament on the bumper. back.

Interior

Going inside, the impression of luxury immediately radiates into the Fortuner interior with a combination of wood accents and piano black on the dashboard, center console and door trim. This luxury is further supported by the use of leather material with original stitches, which gives a premium impression. The entertainment element in the cabin is also accommodated with an 8-inch touch screen head unit that can play MP3, radio, USB, DVD, and Miracast, as well as a digital AC setting with auto climate control feature.

The driving position of the Toyota Fortuner is quite flexible with reclining, sliding and height adjuster settings on the driver and front passenger seats, this is also supported by tilt and telescopic settings for the steering wheel. Oh yes, the steering wheel also has a multi-function button on the steering wheel, and also the paddle shift (for the automatic variant) which provides a pleasant driving sensation.
