Once you’ve downloaded the 1.6.0 version of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game, you’ll receive a mail from Tom Nook notifying you about the next upgrade, which is more storage. If you have many items lying around but aren’t collecting because of lack of storage, this update is the one for you. Visit the Resident Services building and have a conversation with Tom Nook regarding the house upgrade.
As soon as you walk in, you’ll be greeted by Tom. Furthermore, if you need a little more information about the upgrade, head towards Tom’s desk and press ‘A’ on the controller to sit. Select the ‘About my home’ option and then hit the ‘Expand my storage’ button. Make sure you’ve upgraded your home to its highest point. Once you’ve expanded and paid off all the loans, the upgrade will begin. Fortunately, the storage space increases from 1600 pieces to 2400 pieces.
Further, you’re required to pay the amount upfront. Thus, you’ll not be offered any loans. If you have the amount, press the ‘Yes, Let’s Do It!’ option. The payment needs to be made immediately, so if you don’t have enough bells in your inventory, you can withdraw the same using the ABD machine in Resident Services.
When you set up the game for the first time, all you have is a tent on an island. Tom Nook demands you to pay 5,000 Nook Miles for your tent and the trip. Therefore, if you don’t have the same, you can complete a few tasks to collect the Nook Miles and pay off.
For each upgrade, you’ll have to take a loan. As soon as you pay off your first loan, you can take another. It takes a lot of time and effort to collect funds; however, you get more space and customization options with each upgrade.
