An actor demo reel (also called a “showreel” or “sizzle reel”) is a one- to a two-minute video compilation of an actor's finest performances. When looking for new acting talent, talent agencies, managers, casting directors, and potential employers look at demo reels. When selecting whom to represent, talent agents and managers look at acting demo reels, and they send their clients' demo reels to producers to get them employment. Casting directors utilize demo reels to assess an actor's talents and on-camera charm. A strong demo clip might persuade a casting director to bring an actor in for an audition.

In this three-part actor reel service, actors will find the best material for them, rehearse it to perfection, shoot it on the RED camera, and, after a professional post-productitn session, you will have two entirely produced, “episodic quality” 30-second scenes – precisely what agents, CD's, and managers are looking for these days! From start to end, our team will coach you through this intensive, including, if necessary, creating material particularly to help you highlight your acting talents and individuality.

This is a fantastic opportunity, but the room is limited. So treat yourself (and your career) to something that is not only highly helpful but also an industry need – all at a low cost!

Material Selection

Work with our resident acting coach, Joe Salazar, one-on-one to locate the appropriate material for you. Joe requests that you bring at least three alternatives for each scenario and try creating one yourself, even if you aren't a writer! Joe will also select two items from his collection, and the two of you will determine which two will genuinely make you sparkle.

REHEARSE AND PREPARE

Bring your two pieces prepared, and Joe will coach your performance, guide you through the shoot day plan, and even film you so you can see your framing and understand how your work comes through on camera.

SHOOT DAY

They might handover you a call sheet with timings for each of your scenes, as well as a time to meet with our hair and makeup artist. We film with an entire crew on the RED, and Joe will be on set directing your performance to ensure you're doing your best job and obtaining variation in your takes.

Approximately 7-10 days after the shoot, you will receive your string-outs – a video file containing all of your viable takes – for evaluation. Once you've decided on your preferred net for each scene, we'll send your choices to our editor for post-production, and you'll have your final reel in a week!

Actor Taping Service

The taped audition is not the same as the live audition. The spectator – your agent, casting director, or producer – has now formed a judgment about the video and sound quality. And, of course, the camera adds its perspective to your performance. We have the knowledge and equipment at Actor Intro to make your audition tape look and sound amazing. We also understand how the camera perceives you and can provide on-camera audition coaching.

When putting up an actor demo reel, remember that it is a collection of your most excellent work. Therefore, make sure the film is of good quality, and only include performances that highlight your skills.

  • Begin with your most remarkable accomplishments.
  • Maintain your attention on your performance.
  • Include your contact details.
  • Continue to improve your reel.
  • Make your reel readily available on the internet.

Actor Demo Reel or Showreel?

It can be perplexing since half of the population uses “demo reel” while the other half uses “Showreel.” They both, however, relate to the same item. A demo reel used to be 3-4 minutes long, with 5-6 segments lasting 30-45 seconds each. Actors now utilize a shorter version known as a sizzle reel, consisting of around 5-6 sequences edited into about 1-2 minutes long. Nowadays, the terms demo reel and sizzle reel usually mean the same thing.
