ALL About 5G: The Technology Set To Rule The World

The 5G technology has arrived and is ready to take over the world. The fifth generation technology is a planned successor of the 4G network. These networks are connected to many prevailing smartphones. According to the Global System for Mobile CommunicationsAssociation, the new network will have more than 1.7 billion subscribers worldwideby 2020. Wireless technology will not only bring a great transformation to the field of telecommuting, but also have a profound impact on our daily lives. We're here to help you understand the five benefits of the latest technology.

Next-generation wireless technology uses the letter G to signify “Generation”.

We've seen everything from clunky cell phones to sleek smartphones. The time is now for faster technology that will benefit consumers.

These are the 5G's that go with this technology-

GOOD SPEECH-

Wireless technology's primary goal will be to provide fast speeds for consumers. Latency, also known as “lag”, will be improved by 5G technology. It's the time between accessing an event, and responding to it. A large file, for example, that took 20 hours to download with 3G technology will only take a few seconds using HTML5G. A movie will now be available for download 10 times faster than it was before.

GO SAFE –

The 5G technology will reduce road accidents by using Vehicle to Vehicle Communications (V2V). Through 5G networking, cars connected to I intelligent Traffic Management Systems are able to transmit information like speed, position, and destination.

GAMECHANGER –

Mobile gaming can be made possible by 5G. Mobile technology and a cloud gaming server allow players to play their favorite games anywhere they are.

GREAT TRANSFORMATION-

Medical technology is one of the most important areas in which 5G technology can make a significant impact. In life- and death situations, a few seconds can make all of the difference. 5G technology will allow doctors to reach patients around the world. This will remove geographical barriers. There is virtually no limit to the potential for medical advancements through 5G technology.

GUARD-

5G will transform alarm systems so that private and public processes can be completed quickly and without delay. 5G-enabled alarm systems will immediately notify authorities in real time to protect people and property. Because 5G alarm systems work so quickly and reliably, security will change.

The Telecom Department conducted a survey and found that this new technology will speed up download speeds, as well as eliminating network problems in areas of high density. According to the survey, speedup is what respondents are most interested in.

The new network will utilize millimeter-wave technology and multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO), which sends directional signals with lower latency and higher channel capacity.

Despite all these benefits, 5G technology will present some challenges.

CHALLENGES

Costly Deal –

This technology requires infrastructure development which could be an additional cost for companies.

Compatibility Issue –

Many older devices are not compatible with 5G. For better functionality of 5G, users who require the services may need to change their handsets.

Insufficient Technological Support in a Small Number of Parts-

Incomplete technological support in certain parts of the globe could make 5G technology difficult to succeed.

Aircrafts with Altimeters for Radar Affect –

The United States Federal Aviation Administration warned that 5G operations could affect radar altimeters on planes,, which operate between 4.2 to 4.4 GHz. Other authorities have expressed similar concerns and suggested that 5G phones should be switched off or put into airplane mode while flying.

HISTORY

We give our readers a quick overview of the changes occurring in the communication industry between 1G and 5G.

1G-

In 1986, Chicago, USA was home to the first mobile communicationsystem using analog signal transmission. An analog type can be represented by analog FM modulation wireless transmission. This converts speech frequencies between 300Hz to 3400Hz to the high frequency carrier frequency MHz.

2G-

Chunghwa Telecom was the first company to make the transition from 1G technology to 2G in 1995. Digital modulation is now available between 1G & 2G.

3G-

China granted a 3G license on January 7, 2009. This technology was used for stable transmission, video telephone, large-scale data transmission and high-bandwidth.

4G-

4G was first launched in 2013. The Fourth Generation Technology product combined 3G and WLAN to transmit high-quality video images similar to high-definition TV. The 4G system is capable of downloading at 100Mbps which is 2000 times faster than dialup Internet access.

5G-

5G has low latency, higher reliability, and low power use. It will benefit consumers from many sectors.

CONCLUSION

While 5th-generation networks are already available in certain European countries and the USA, India will soon be able to access 5G services. The Government of India approved a 5G spectrum auction and many telecom giants are interested in this big deal.

The Centre has published a list that names Adani Data Networks and Reliance Jio as participants in India's first 5G spectrum auction. It will take place on July 26. The spectrum will be sold at auction for 72,097.85MHz. The winner will get the right to use it for 20 years.
