Apple has announced a new color option for the iPhone 12 lineup; however, the entire iPhone 12 series will not get the purple color.

In the Spring Loaded event, Apple announced a new color option, i.e., purple for its iPhone 12 series. No doubt,  the purple color for iPhone will soon become popular among users. But, the color option is going to be available with iPhone 12 series models only.  To the disappointment of many users, the company is not going to change this in the near future.

This year’s Spring Loaded event organized by Apple was loaded with several new announcements. It includes the introduction of a new color option for the iPhone 12 also. Apart from these, Apple announced a new iMac and iPad Pro powered by its chip, M1. In addition to this, Apple also announced Apple Podcasts Subscriptions and Apple Family Card.

Above all, the tech giant also introduced its long-talked small-item tracker, AirTag. It is the newest accessory that the tech giant is going to introduce in its iPhones. AirTag had been leaked and rumored for several months before the tech giant officially unveiled it at its Spring Loaded even on April 20, 2021. The device is very similar to the size of the bottle cap with 0,31 inches deep and 1.26-inches in diameter.

Plus, AirTag uses ultra-wideband technology to measure precise distance and can help to identify the location by making a sound when finding any Bluetooth device. Additionally, it is equipped with Near Field Communication technology that can help you to share a brief message with an NFC reader.

You can use it to find your lost items. For example, you can find your lost keys, luggage, backpack, bags, and many other ordinary things that you have lost somewhere. Plus, you can also track your apparel by placing an AirTag in the pocket. Its accuracy increased when you paired it with iPhone 12 or iPhone 11.

Apple announced the new color option only for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini models. As a result, users can’t order an iPhone 12 Pro or Pro Max with new purple color. Moreover, it remains to see whether Apple is going to change it or not. It seems complicated considering the fact that the tech giant tends not to offer color selection at the same level as its Pro models. Due to this, the buyers willing to buy iPhone Pro and Pro Max will be allowed to choose from different color options.

For example, iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max smartphones are available in four different colors. The users can purchase iPhone 12 Pro in either Graphite, Silver, Gold, or Pacific Blue. Besides, Pro Max is also available in the same colors. Here, it is worth noting that the Pacific Blue color introduced in Pro Max is more subtle and lighter than the Blue color presented in the Standard iPhone 12. The rest of the iPhone 12 models and mini models are available in White, Black, and Green colors.

Apple has always offered its products in various colors that can suit the needs of every individual. For example, it introduced its smartwatch, Apple Watch SE, in multiple colors, including Space Gray, Gold Aluminum, and Silver Aluminum. However, the tech giant does not seem to give its all products color attention on the same level.

The prime example proving this fact is iPhone 12 series. While the users can find the iPhone 12 mini and the standard iPhone 12 in six different colors, the Pro Max and iPhone Pro are available in only four colors. The price of these devices seems to be the main reason behind this.

The price baseline for iPhone 12 is $699, whereas it’s $799 for the standard iPhone. The two models are considerably cheaper when compared to the $1.099 and $999 base prices for the Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro. However, iPhone 12 mini is equipped with 5G capability, two rear cameras, i.e., one ultra-wide and one wide-angle.

While considering the difference in the price of these models, it seems that the tech giant wants to add more color options to the models that it expects to sell in a more significant number and of variety. If it is true, then it makes a strong sense why Apple has introduced the new purple color with the iPhone 12 cheaper models only.

Needless to say, the sales of the iPhone 12 mini models have reportedly been much lower than other iPhone models. Several reports, including Nikkei Asia, suggested that the iPhone 12 sales are meager to the tech giant. It forced Apple to cut down the production of this particular model.

However, it remained unclear what exactly the issue was with the iPhone 12 mini. Seeing at the scenarios, the tech giant’s decision to add new color options to iPhone 12 mini seems a good decision as introducing a new and exciting color can help Apple reinvigorate buyers’ interest in its smallest and cheapest iPhone 12.
