If a couple are unable to conceive after a year of trying, with unprotected sex, couples are considered infertile. The time duration allowed reduces to 6 months if the age of the lady is more than 35. The infertility world can be overwhelming and intimidating, but remember, one is not alone. Some 13 to 17 people in 100 experience infertility and up to 50% of these cases are due to male infertility. Azoospermia is one such cause. What is Azoospermia? Sperm is present in the testicles. It travels through the reproductive tract and mixes with the fluid found in the seminal ducts. Semen is a mix of the sperm and this fluid – the thick, white ejaculate that comes out of the penis. With Azoospermia, there are no live sperms in the ejaculate. One may have ejaculated, but it doesn’t contain sperm. Azoospermia means “no sperm count.” Possible symptoms might include hormonal reasons, obstruction in the ducts, varicocele, hereditary reasons, injury, exposure to radiation or toxic chemicals, prior medication for other diseases or cancer treatment like radiotherapy or chemotherapy. If you have been diagnosed with azoospermia, do not despair. There are solutions to all problems, including azoospermia. Thousands of such patients are now proud and happy parents of healthy children today. Please feel free to contact our fertility doctors at any of our five branches of GarbhaGudi IVF.
