Sorting data may be an important feature of knowledge analysis. Tableau certification allows the sorting of knowledge of the fields, which are called dimensions. There are two ways within which Tableau carries out the sorting.

Computed Sorting is the sort directly applied on an axis using the kind dialog button.

Manual Sorting is employed to rearrange the order of dimension fields by dragging them next to every other in an advertisement hoc fashion.

Computed Sorting

This type of sorting involves choosing a field to be sorted and directly applying the type using the kind panel. You've got the choice to settle on the kind order as ascending or descending and choose the sector on which to use the kind.

Example Choose Sample-Superstore to use sorting on the sector named discount by using the size order date and Subcategory as shown below. The result shows the name of the sub-categories in an exceedingly descending order arranged for every year.

Manual Sorting

This is basically changing the order within which the visualization elements appear on the screen. For instance, you wish to indicate the sales volume of various product segments in descending order, however, you have got your own choice of order. This type isn't as per the precise values of number or text, rather they represent the user’s choice of ordering. Hence, they're called manual sorting.

In the following example, you progress to the segment named the main office, below the segment named Consumer, although the sales volume of headquarters is the lowest.
