Beacon battery life is affected by both controlled and uncontrolled factors. These include temperature – it is best not to expose the battery to conditions above 40 degrees or in very cold temperatures. An even more important factor is temperature variation, which can be really debilitating for a battery. The biggest difference, however, is the settings.
How do settings affect life?
Changes in Beacons' settings have the biggest impact on their battery life. While these are much more predictable than environmental factors, they have a far greater impact on the device than the latter. What settings will make Beacon battery life worse? Increasing the number of signals sent, setting the power higher, or the amount of data collected. All of these factors affect the device's performance and other degrees of overload. If you want your Beacon battery to last as long as possible, optimize the settings so that the device meets all your needs, but operates in the most ergonomic way.
