I think it accurately depicts the first part of the book, which is super important in my opinion, and even as a stand alone movie it would still be awesome. I like how when Bilbo encountered Gollum, they got in all the riddles that there was in the chapter of the book, Riddles in the dark. Overall great movie if you liked the books, or if you love high fantasy stories.

A movie that’s well structured with good pacing and narrative beats can’t work without there characters and their actors and the visuals of the movie that sell the emotion and impact. Like you need bones to give structure to a body but you need the body to move the bones. This movie succeeds at having good raw emotion with stellar visuals even it has a very much flawed Skeleton. The characters are great every time I watch this movie I hope things will be different, that anakin follows windu’s orders cause you can see in anakin eyes that he’s still struggling and you can see the good in him.

Though a really odd choice to make Ragnarok a comedy seeing that it deals with some pretty heavy material – the final destruction of Asgard, Thor’s battle with Hella and the fall of the Valkryies but Taikia’s such a talented director that he makes it all work. I was almost sure that fellow Kiwi Jermaine Clement would make a perfect character in this film but alas. Jeff Goldblum steals the movie completely as the Grand Master and Cate Blanchett is superb as the jilted sister Hella – Mark Ruffalo really gets Hulk to flex some comedy muscles with some great one liners too.

The Dark World offers plenty of action, some really funny moments, great performances, and per MCU custom, sets the stage for more adventures to come. Probably because I really enjoyed it in theaters, and well, what can I say? I really like the theater experiences.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is great fantasy movie. And my only complaint is that pretty much everything is CGI where as Lord of the Rings used a full cast makeup costumes and it made it look real especially the orcs If they do another trilogy in the future please spend more time on making it look real rather than the overuse of CGI I gave it 5 stars because I personally enjoyed the movie including the dragon, the music, the dwarves, the elves definitely get more lore and screen time which was super cool. Legolas is in the movie which is cool to get to see a younger version of him he had some great scenes in this movie that make watching LOTR next even better.
