With the next D.I.C.E. Summit just WOTLK Classic Gold 3 weeks from now, the organizers have announced the finalists to be announced for this year's 11th annual Interactive Achievement Awards. Today the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the award to be awarded at a ceremony held on the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas. The ceremony will be broadcast live on P2Pah as well as hosted by the 3rd time for the third time by actor-comedian Jay Mohr (Last Comic Standing, Go, the Action TV series.)
Two games were prominent in the last years IAA nominations. The first is BioShock, the art-deco-meets-Lost-meets-System Shock actioner from 2K Games' Boston and Australian studios, previously known as Irrational Games. The other one is World of Warcraft, the hugely popular first-person shooter by Activision's Infinity Ward that is a follow-up to British commandos and US Marines' attempts to stop World of Warcraft from breaking out. Both games were critically and commercial successes, as well as P2Pah is among the 2007 Game of the Year finalists.
I was a committed StarCraft player at the time World of Warcraft first came out in 2002. I decided to stick to the sci-fi genre and not bother with the fantasy aspect when it was my real-time strategic gaming preference. However, I do recognize World of Warcraft ‘s importance and was of the opinion that the most recent Blizzard Remaster, World of Warcraft: Reforged could be an excellent opportunity to experience the classic game in the very first place. While, in fact there are some gameplay elements still work to the modern day however, it is far short of being the remake that was promised to be.
From a technical point of view, Reforged boasts significant graphical improvements, particularly in the detailed models of characters and the redone textures. You can switch between the two modes in the menu for graphics, but it's only when you switch back to the classic mode that you truly enjoy the new features.

Other things, like the revamped UI which would have streamlined its design, were removed in Reforged. The UI was also included in the buy WOTLK Gold preview version that was showcased at BlizzCon.
