The highest quality essential oils are known for various beneficial properties, but most people are drawn to them because of their smell. As a result, an essential oil that suits your mood and personality can easily replace your usual perfume.

Using your favorite essential oil blend as a perfume means using a scent that you like, and that has the added advantage of being 100% natural and pure.

Furthermore, store-bought perfume can be costly, and you might not be able to find the exact fragrance you're searching for. Instead, you can use your favorite essential oil to make your perfume.

Making essential oil perfume is simple and convenient, and the combinations are virtually endless.

Here are some of the Pure Essential Oils Malaysia that can be used as perfume.

Lavender

While lavender is now considered vintage, its floral and soothing scent is like a hug for the soul. One or two drops of lavender essential oil on your neck will keep the scent going all day.

Rose

This delicate essential oil can be added to pulse points during the day for an uplifting fragrance. Rose will make you feel even more beautiful if you're in a romantic mood.

Jasmine

The sweet fragrance of this delicate and unusual flower has uplifting properties. To remain positive throughout the day and benefit from this natural, mood-lifting perfume, apply Jasmine to your temples.

Ylang Ylang

The Ylang Ylang flower has been used in perfumes, religious ceremonies, aromatherapy, and wedding ceremonies for decades, and the essential oil extracted from it is just as versatile.

Put a drop or two of Ylang Ylang on your wrists for a wonderful-smelling, natural perfume.

Neroli

Neroli oil is steam distilled from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree and has a sweet, citrusy, and floral fragrance. Neroli can be used as a perfume to promote imagination and self-expression, and feelings of love and romance.

How to Use Essential Oils to Produce Wonderful-Smelling Perfumes

Required Equipment

  • Cups for measuring liquids (optional)
  • Eyedropper
  • A pin or a similar tiny, sharp object
  • Glass bottle with a lid
  • Carrier oil (such as jojoba oil, olive oil, or grapeseed oil)
  • Your favorite essential oils
  • Vitamin E Capsule

Instructions

  • Get Your Bottle Ready

Remove the contents of an old perfume bottle or use a new glass bottle or pot. You can make as much or as little perfume as you want, but a bottle that holds about 4 ounces is usually sufficient.

  • Pour in the Carrier Oil

Fill your glass bottle halfway with a carrier oil, around 2 to 3 ounces. The measurement doesn't need to be exact. However, keep in mind that the more carrier oil you use, the more essential oils you'll need to get the fragrance you want.

  • Add the Base Note

Now it's time to apply a few drops of essential oil to build the fragrance's base note (the longest-lasting part of the scent). Base notes include cinnamon, Jasmine, cedarwood, rose, vanilla, myrrh, and clove essential oils.

Use about 15 drops of your favorite base essential oil.

  • Add the Middle Note

The middle note essential oil (the smell that emerges a short time after adding the fragrance) comes next. Use about 15 drops of the essential oil of your choice.

Middle notes include chamomile, geranium, juniper, oak, rosemary, ylang-ylang, nutmeg, lavender, cypress, and bay.

  • Add the Top Note

The last essential oil to complete your perfume is the top note (the fragrance you detect right after application). You'll want to put about 15 drops in your perfume bottle once more.

Eucalyptus, lemon, grapefruit, peppermint, spearmint, sage, tea tree, and orange are fine top-note essential oils.

  • Add a Fixative

A fixative, which preserves and keeps the perfume fresh, is needed for your homemade perfume. A vitamin E capsule is an inexpensive and skin-friendly fixative.

Pierce the capsule with a tiny pin or other sharp object and squeeze the contents into your perfume bottle.

  • Shake the Mixture Thoroughly

To mix all of the ingredients, place the lid on your perfume bottle and shake it vigorously.

Place an ingredients label on the bottle if you're making more than one bottle of essential oil perfume at a time to help you remember which fragrance is inside.

In a Nutshell

Experiment with various base, middle, and top note combinations before you find one you want. Just remember that top notes evaporate faster than middle and base notes, and middle notes evaporate slightly faster than base notes.

The perfume is ready to use right away. However, allowing it to rest for a couple of weeks will allow the oils to mix, and the fragrance will be stronger and last longer when worn.
