The most important feature of Google is end-to-end encryption for the Message app. Google is now releasing end-to-end encryption features for all who have access to RCS.

The security feature was previously available only for beta users. When a message is encrypted, users will see a lock icon on the Send button. For this, both sender and receiver should have enabled chat features and have an active internet connection.

Google says end-to-end encryption is available for face-to-face conversations. There are no details on when it will be available for group chat.

Google introduced an Android earthquake alert system in Turkey, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The alert system launched in 2020 to provide alerts to people in the affected areas seconds before the earthquake struck. Android Earthquake Alerts System was freshly launched in New Zealand and Greece.

“We are giving importance to launching earthquake alerts in countries where high earthquake risks are possible and these features are expected to be launched in more countries in the coming year,” Google stated.

‘Star’ Mark on Google Messages app

Google is adding the ability to mark the necessary conversation as “star.” Users can now bookmark special messages and see them back immediately later. You can tap and hold the message, then mark it as the star. If you want to come back to a message, such as your friend’s address or a picture of your family get-to-gather, you just need to tap on the starred category. Google says the Starred Message feature will be available for the messaging app “in the coming weeks.”

G board receives emoji kitchen recommendation

After typing the message, users of the G board will now see the suggestion in the emoji kitchen. In simple terms, the keyboard of Google will provide a suggestion to create your custom emoji based on your message. However, emoji kitchen suggestions are currently available only for G board beta users. Google confirmed that the feature would bring all G board users for messages written in Spanish, English, and Portuguese on devices running Android 6.0 and above.

Open apps using voice command

You can now ask Google to open your favorite apps using your voice. For example, just say, “Hey Google, pay my Capital One Bill” to open the app directly.

New features of Android Auto

Android Auto users can personalize their launcher screen directly from the phone and set the dark mode manually. Google has also added new app experiences to help increase your drive.

So, these updates are going to give the user a better user experience on their devices. Let’s see what more is coming in the Android 12 also, as new leaks are telling a lot about it.
