China is the second-biggest importer of products and the world's largest exporter. What are the main sources of imports, though? In FY 2021–2022, China imported items worth $119.42 billion from the US and $23.1 billion from India, ranking as the first and third largest import sources, respectively, according to Global Trade data. Aircraft ($9.77 billion), soybeans ($8.72 billion), and integrated circuits ($7.69 billion) made up the bulk of China's imports from the US, whilst iron ore ($3.51 billion), refined petroleum ($1.61 billion), and raw aluminum ($1.26 billion) came from India. Despite the trade difficulties with the US and the border issue with India, China's imports from both nations climbed dramatically in comparison to the previous year. This demonstrates that China continues to have a high demand for energy, raw materials, and high-tech goods and that it is prepared to diversify its import sources to meet these demands.
