Minivans are more spacious than SUVs, usually cheaper, have better convenience features, and fly almost entirely under everyone's radar. The Honda Odyssey has always been a particularly good model in this kind of neglected model. Guess what? A new one comes.
Well, most of them are new. And maybe just a few new one – but it looks a little different and has more standard safety features, which is good, because I didn't know I could handle more than one revolutionary minivan debut in a year. So what are the differences of the 2021 Honda Odyssey?
One of them is pricing. You may now wonder what the benefits of these vans will cost you if you only need to park a minivan in your shed. Well, the bad news is that prices do go up a little bit from 2020. The good news is that this is not a crazy amount, which means odyssey in 2021 is still quite affordable. The basic LX model costs $32,910 with destination, while the top Elite model with leather seats and piano black interior costs $48,940, including destinations.
In the visible changes, Odyssey got a new and improved one. The grille of the upcoming 2020 model is not bad, but the grille of 2021 model goes back to the old Honda with cleaner and simpler appearance. In other words, the change is subtle but welcome. The look of the rest of the Odyssey is basically the same as before, and I don't complain.
Thank goodness, once you climb in, there will be more substantial and exciting changes. The main change is the second-row seats, because now when you fold them, they're almost flat. This makes them easier to delete if you have to drag something big, which is convenient. Nevertheless, their level has been greatly improved. A good thing is Honda's neat magic slide system is still running.
Honda is also making a new rear seat reminder feature standard, which is independent but can be integrated with its carbine watch system. You can now also use both CabinWatch and Cabin Talk, so you don't have to choose between magnifying your dad's jokes or zooming in on your kids sitting in the back seat and throwing food in hard to clean places. It's like the omnipotence that a minivan driver might get. It is also worth noting that this combination of features will also be applied to odyssey from 2018 to 2020 through wireless updates.
This is probably Honda's most important induction kit upgrade, as well as the most important feature to come to Odyssey. Honda induction now gets low-speed following, pedestrian emergency braking and traffic sign recognition added to an already powerful driver assistance system.
The new design of the front and rear seats is more marked by black seats and seat couplers. pretty good. And HondaVac is still there because it's amazing.
