MG ZS, whose arrival is eagerly awaited, officially paved in Indonesia a few years ago. This SUV is indeed getting quite a lot of attention from automotive lovers in Indonesia even before it was launched in Indonesia.

Some people may still feel unfamiliar with this car brand. MG ZS is a British car owned by China. MG, which stands for Morris Garage, is a British car brand that has been famous for producing sports cars since 2001.

MG ZS itself consists of two different variants, namely MG ZS Excite and MG ZS Ignite. The MG ZS Excite is priced at around IDR 255 million, while the MG ZS Ignite is priced at IDR 289 million.

In Indonesia, this car competes directly with the Honda HR-V. And because of that, this time we will compare the fuel consumption of these two car models.

Comparison of MG ZS engine vs Honda HR-V

Before talking about fuel consumption, it doesn't feel legitimate if we don't talk about the engine first. Speaking of engines, MG ZS only offers one engine choice and one transmission option for both models.

The engine itself uses a 15S4C DOHC 4 Cylinder 16 Valve VTi – TECH engine which has an engine capacity of 1.5 liters (1,498 cc). This machine is then combined with a 4-speed automatic transmission system equipped with Manual Mode. On paper, the MG ZS can produce a power of 120 PS at 6,000 rpm and its torque reaches 150 Nm at 4,500 rpm engine speed.

Meanwhile, the Honda HR-V as its competitor carries an L15Z SOHC, DBW, i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission system. The power it produces is the same as the MG ZS, which is 120 PS at 6,600 rpm. While the torque itself is slightly smaller than the MG ZS, which is 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm.

Comparison of Fuel Consumption of MG ZS VS Honda HR-V

Not only a matter of power, it turns out that the fuel consumption of the two cars is not much different. For consumption in the city, the MG ZS can cover a distance of 10.1 km with one liter of gasoline. Meanwhile, for consumption outside the city, this car can travel a distance of 15.4 km / liter.

Then for the Honda HR-V itself, this car can cover a distance of 11.2 km / liter for use in the city. As for use outside the city, this car can travel a distance of 15.1 km / liter.

From this it can be concluded that for use in the city, the Honda HR-V is more fuel efficient. Meanwhile, for use outside the city, MG ZS is a little more economical than its competitors. But of course this fuel consumption can change depending on the speed and conditions while driving.
