Collaboration among tech companies is creating a better world of technology. Google and Samsung are partnered for designing a new Wearable OS and now Amazon is joining hands with Microsoft.

Microsoft launched the Windows 11 operating system last week and has several new features. Currently, it is available only with the Insider Program. Now the company has come up with a special feature in partnership with Amazon and the Windows operating system which has been supported by Android apps.

Users will be able to install and use Android apps with the help of the Amazon App Store on their Windows 11 device. Now it has come to light that user will also be able to sideload Android apps. The news came just after the release which means that more updates and features can be added when Windows 11 will become available for all.

The information came from a tweet

Popular developer Miguel De Icaza tweeted that Android apps can be sideloaded in Windows 11, Android Police mentioned in a report.

A user asked on microblogging site Twitter if Windows 11 could be sideloaded and installed with the help of android apps APK. In response, the developer tweeted yes, meaning it could be done. Miguel is an engineer at Microsoft. So potentially it is a piece of authentic information.

You can install any app

With the ability to sideload APKs, users will be able to install any Android package extension on their Windows 11 device. This means they are no longer reliant on the Amazon App Store to download and install apps. This is great news for Android users and app developers because users will be able to use the app on a larger screen even if it is not yet available on Amazon’s store. Android smartphone users can do the same.

Opportunity for third party stores and websites

Users can find the Amazon App Store as an official app source in Windows 11 on their personal computers. They will also be able to download and install apps from Open-Source App Repositories, Third-Party App Stores, and APK Mirror. The app is also an opportunity for developers and third-party stores to grow their user base faster after Windows 11.

Installing APK

To sideload an app on an Android device, users must first download an APK file and then tap it to get the option to install. Microsoft has not stated whether or not installing APKs in Windows 11 will be that simple. To run APK files on their Windows 11 PC, users may require software. After receiving the update, beta users will be able to remove this status.

Sideloading is not safe

The simplest and quickest way to download Android apps in Windows 11 is to log in with your Amazon account and install them from the Amazon App Store. Sideloading is the unofficial download and installation of an app. There’s no guarantee that APK files obtained from third-party stores or websites are completely safe. In this case, threats such as viruses or malware continue to exist.

Not all Android apps in Windows 11 will work

Users will be able to sideload apps that will not be available on the Amazon App Store, but this is not required. It also does not confirm the accessibility of Google Suite to Windows 11. According to XDA developers, some apps, such as Twitter, will not work in Windows 11 because they require device-specific recommendations. Similarly, Google Services will be required in order to use any Google app.
