The fixed mindset is one where you feel that you know all the skills you need to know and you must deal with the skills you have. In this state of mind you will not acquire any new skills. The growth mindset is where you feel that you have a number of skills and you know that you will increase and improve your current skills over time. In other words you will continue to learn and grow as long as you live.
How does this relate to business? In the service industry it directly relates to how fast firms are able to adapt and evolve to fill new niches within their focused markets. It also may be a direct measure of how fast a firm adapts new technology to stay ahead of their competition and to aid as another way to stand out amongst their competition.
Think about your current state of mind. Do you feel positive or negative about yourself? How do you feel others view and perceive you? The same questions can be asked about a company. As you start to shift your mind you will start to see more opportunities and to grow as both a person and a company.
