The Cloud PC details of Microsoft have been leaked before its 2021 release. Way too early, isn’t it? Surprisingly, it is true. Microsoft’s Cloud PC details are now on the surface. Luckily, you can now go through some of the specifications of this PC, which was probably set for release somewhere during Spring 2021. There are still a lot of details that are unknown about this Azure-based virtualization service. However, some of them are now available over the web through the recent leak.

Sources reported that Microsoft has been working on Cloud PC – an Azure-based virtualization service that was all set to be seen during spring 2021.

But all thanks to the Twitter handle WalkingCat (@_h0x0d_), which has revealed some of the specifications of Microsoft’s Cloud PC on the surface, thereby extending the knowledge of users about this project.

What is Microsoft Cloud PC?

Many things still need to be explained regarding Microsoft’s Cloud PC. However, from the findings, we have understood that it is a virtualization service based on Azure that will offer access to Microsoft 365 apps to the users.

A job listing of June 5, 2020, got spotted in the next month. It was specifically for the program manager of Cloud PC. However, this job description hardly had any clearance, and it didn’t provide much at first, as can be seen below:

The Cloud PC is a new offering from Microsoft that would deliver Desktop as a Service. It would offer a modern cloud-based and elastic Windows experience to the business customers. It will also allow organizations to stay productive, more scalable, and simplified.

Users can rest assured that Microsoft’s upcoming virtualization service will be very efficient for remotely accessing the work resources from any compatible device.

Additional Specs of Microsoft Cloud PC Leaked

A few months have been gone since any further information related to the Cloud PC surfaced on the web. However, some of the additional details that have come over the surface have helped us understand Microsoft’s strategy better.

The Azure-based virtualization service has been given a codename: Project Deschutes. You can access it from deschutes.microsoft.com or cloudpc.microsoft.com. However, you will need your school or work account for using it because your Microsoft account will not work here. The Cloud PC can be accessed through the Microsoft Remote Desktop if the users have properly set up their Cloud PC.

Microsoft Cloud PC will be available in three configurations – Medium, Heavy & Advanced. This Remote Desktop application will be available on Mac, Windows (32-bit, 64-bit, and ARM64), iOS, and Android.

The Medium configuration is an optimized general-purpose, cost-effective, and flexible plan which offers 4GB of RAM, two vCPU, and 96GB of SSD.

The Heavy configuration of Cloud PC offers optimized speed and high-end performance with its 8GB of RAM, two vCPUs, and over 96 GB of SSD.

Cloud PC’s Advanced configuration is focused mainly on optimized scalability and offers accelerated data processing and graphics with its 8GB of RAM, three vCPU, 40GB of SSD configuration.

This was all about the Cloud PC – the upcoming Azure-based virtualization service by Microsoft, which has amazed everyone. Microsoft plans to make it an experience Microsoft-365-powered. Cloud PC will probably be available on a decent subscription fee.

Even though Microsoft, a few months ago, has already dropped a few hints regarding some kind of virtualization service that it is working upon, the important question here is when this service will get introduced. However, reports suggest that it can come by the next spring, but officials have not yet clarified these assumptions.
