Roo, Monday, October 05, 2020, podery-criticism: State and municipal authorities yesterday cut the ribbon to receive the Air France flight from Paris to Cancun at the Cancun International Airport and celebrated the gradual, orderly and responsible reactivation of tourism after the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Upon witnessing the arrival of 282 passengers of the international flight and cutting the ribbon for the reopening, the Municipal President, Mara Lezama, highlighted that Cancun continues to advance at a steady pace in the process of economic reactivation, applying international health protocols to receive national and international tourists, now counting on this flight that once again connects the Mexican Caribbean to Europe.
“We welcome our tourists with open arms, today (Sunday) the Air France flight arrived. The tourist giant is always standing up for health and life,” said the First Municipal Authority.
In addition, prior to the ceremony held in Terminal 4 of the Cancun International Airport, he reported that there is a latent tourist recovery in the municipality and even this October 4 broke a record with 291 air operations.
“Since the resumption of operations to Cancun after the beginning of the pandemic, we have registered 12 new international frequencies, three increases in connectivity, as well as the resumption of operations to Cancun. The return of Air France is significant because it represents the confidence that Europe has in our tourist destination,” he said.
It should be noted that the event was also attended by the Director General of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council, Dario Flota Alcocer; the Director General of Air France- KLM Mexico, Guilhem Mallet; the Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo, Marisol Vanegas Pérez; the Regional Manager of Institutional Relations of ASUR, Alejandro Rosel Ramírez; the Honorary Consul of France in Quintana Roo, Maud Vetter Houssais, and the Director of Municipal Tourism, Francisco López Reyes, among others.
In addition, with the reactivation of Cancun, various tourism companies have begun to operate with the new normality and seeking at all times to comply with the sanitation protocols, among them the various transport companies such as Cancun Airport Transportation.
