Everyone knows that the current pandemic hit the educational system globally. Fortunately, most schools and colleges are using online ways to teach students. Even most governments have decided to close all the educational institutions to stop the spread of this dangerous virus. According to Wikipedia, as of 27th July 2020, around 1.725 billion students’ studies got affected due to this pandemic. As per official data of UNICEF, due to partial or full closure of schools, the study of around 98.6% of the total world’s student population got affected. Approximately 48 countries’ schools are currently open.

Cambridge International Examination released a statement for canceling the Cambridge O Level, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge AICE Diploma, Cambridge International AS & A Level, and Cambridge Pre-U examinations scheduled for May-June 2020.

On the eve of the new school year, several students are studying from home through online medium. Usually, during this time, students interact with their new class teacher to learn new things from school. But in the current situation, it is nearly impossible. Therefore, Microsoft has launched Minecraft: Education Edition for Chromebooks. The company said that it would install automatically in Chrome OS, Windows, and iPad. But macOS users need to download it manually. It means students can now communicate and work on several projects without worrying about the use of their platform.

It might help teachers in several ways as schools struggle to become new normal with online teaching mode. But it is difficult for the teachers to teach them properly without direct supervision. Due to the online study mode, the competition for Chromebooks and iPads has increased in the market. Keeping these things in mind, Mojang (Microsoft’s Developer) has created an Education Edition of Minecraft for Chromebooks.

Undoubtedly, Minecraft is one of the best and famous games developed by Microsoft. Gamers count this Chromebook as the massive hit among all games because of its open-world mechanism. Its mechanism encourages creativity, and above it, Microsoft has taken Minecraft to other levels like AI or Artificial Intelligence, research, and now education.

One of the most significant issues is waiting for the support of Android apps on Chromebooks. It will make it more stable and usable.

Minecraft is not only for education. It has something for everyone, no matter on which device you are running this software. The Education Edition has 11 new STEM lessons specifically designed to teach about pollination and honeybees. It is quite different from bees and birds.

Minecraft has more to offer to all the students. Due to these features, students might fall in love with the virtual coding world, which is filled with creative activities. If you have played this game, you might know that multiple persons can be involved in this game. So, this mode can help the children to meet their classmates and teachers virtually. The game will prove a perfect education tool during this pandemic.

One of the surprising things is that the Education version of this game has been available since 2016, but now it has been officially ported to the Chromebooks.
