Some industrial facilities based on a large scale require machines and devices that are used to operate on bulky loads and machinery that may weigh more than a hundred megatons. Such industry comprises machines and devices that are power by electricity. One of them is an electric crane, a normal crane with the same purposes which runs on electricity. The electricity required is provided by powerful generators installed in the facility itself. A shipyard would be one such example of an industrial facility that required cranes that run on electricity.

These cranes are used in such facilities where a large crane or a hydraulic crane can't be used or is too expensive. These cranes are diesel-fueled as they generate electricity when the fuel is burnt. What makes them different from other larger crane girder is the fact that they don't include their own power sources.

Some of the common electric cranes are:

• EOT Crane

• HOT Crane

• Monorail Crane

• Underslung Crane

• Goliath/Semi-Goliath Crane

• Jib Crane

• Flame Proof Crane

• Gantry Crane

Components of an electric crane:

Cabin

A cabin is that component of a crane from where an operator controls the functionality and movement. A fully equipped cabin consists of a console (panel or joystick), an LED screen that shows load weight, speed, mechanism, failures, load on the engine. A cabin is up to 10-inches in height.

Control pendant

A pendant controls the crane movement that lacks a cabin. A pendant contains 2-10 pushbuttons, including an emergency stop. A pendant is manufactured considering the durability and reliability to meet the industry standards.

End trucks

End trucks are the high-quality components of a crane that carry the hoist and the bridge. They help in the movement while loading or unloading heavy loads.

Chain hoists

A normal Hoist lift contains a lever to be operated manually, and an electric chain hoist runs on electricity. They play the most important part in the mechanism, that is, lifting the load, putting it down, or moving it horizontally. They come with a hand geared trolley or an electric trolley.

Wire rope hoists

They contain a wire that lifts the bulky loads quickly. An electric wire rope hoist contains steel wire rope and a steel drum around which the wire is wrapped to lift the load. They come with single girder suspension cranes and top running bridge cranes.

Trolley

The whole mechanism of an electric trolley is built on wheels from which a hoist is suspended to provide horizontal motion along the bridge rail. They are highly versatile and uncomplicated devices used in almost every industrial facility.

LOADMATE is the home for each and every part that belongs to a crane. All of the products are tested well before the market sales and meet all our customer requirements. Visit their website for more information.
