Actress Elsa Raven has recently passed away, and this is a sad moment for the acting community.

Elsa Raven was born with the name Elsa Rabinowitz on 21 September 1929. She was an American actress known for her role as the mother of Vincent Terranova on the TV series Wiseguy. She played the character of Ida Straus in the iconic 1995 film Titanic. Raven voiced in the animated movie American Pop. After these, she also appeared as John Malkovich’s landlady in In the Line of Fire, the realtor in The Amityville Horror, the mother who lost her sons in the movie Fearless and Gertrude Stein in The Moderns. Some of her popular TV shows including 3rd Rock from the Sun & Everybody Loves Raymond and Million Dollar Infield. The legendary actress died at the age of 91 years on 3 November 2020 at her home in Los Angeles.

Raven’s death was confirmed by her manager, David Shaul, to Deadline. There was no more update regarding her funeral. Surprisingly, the cause of her death has not yet been reported. Her death is the saddest news in the industry right now.

Raven started her career on stage in New York City, and she helped Joseph Papp to introduce the Free Shakespeare Festival to Central Park. She was also a part of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, where she engaged in voting each year.

Raven was last seen in the 2011 movie Answers to Nothing. It is a mystery thriller movie directed and written by Matthew Leutwyler. The movie is about the backdrop of child abduction and follows the lives of people in Los Angeles. Raven played the character of Mrs. Harrison in the film.

Film archaeologist Rhett Bartlett @dialmformovies shared Raven’s few stills from different movies, including Memorable and Titanic. He captioned the tweet, “RIP Elsa Raven, 91. Sells the house in THE AMITYVILLE HORROR. A small memorable role in BACK TO THE FUTURE, as ‘Save The Clock Tower.’ And briefly appeared in a memorable shot in TITANIC.”

The celebrity news, People, also tweeted, “Elsa Raven, Actress in Titanic and Back to the Future, Dies at 91.”

The industry and fans will remember Raven for her fantastic work and her loving nature. She had been a part of many films. Raven has inspired the younger generation through her dedication and perfection towards her work. She is no more within us, but she will always be alive through her characters.
