The upcoming film “Jack Reacher 3”, which some have suggested, will be based on the novel “One Shot” written by Lee Child. It will see Tom Cruise leading the line once again. The first film of the franchise had introduced itself to the world on December the 21st, 2012.
A director named Christopher McQuarrie, now renowned for his Mission Impossible films, had steered the wheel for the 2012 mystery blockbuster. The sequel to the first film had the title “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back,” which had arrived in theaters in 2016.
But, the real question is when will the much anticipated third film come around?’
Well, you should know that the word on the street suggests to us that the franchise will not be returning for the third film since the affluence attained by the first two films had not quite reached the expectation mark despite the star-studded cast. The critical acclaim, too, hadn’t satisfied the filmmakers.
Nevertheless, there is positive news for you. According to a report published by a reliable source, Lee Child is in talks with filmmakers who are in agreement with Skydance and Paramount Pictures that a TV series route is a better option for a “Jack Reacher” story.
A Jack Reacher TV series based on the book “One Shot” by Lee Child might be under development. We have to check ourselves here because all of this could very well be a rumor, but there are voices on the internet that are suggesting the same.
I would like to remind you that a series called “Langdon” based on a Dan Brown book “The Lost Symbol” is indeed coming on NBC, so a Jack Reacher themed TV series is not something that we should have a hard time believing in.
And since nothing is official about the TV series, we cannot yet predict its release date. Although there are fans on Reddit who have passionately said that the TV series could easily come on our screens in 2021 or the year after that, the production hasn’t even started so, take all these reports with a pinch of salt.
Currently, Jack Reacher is the least of Tom Cruise’s problems as he is busy with the shooting of Mission Impossible 7 along with the former Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie.
