Gin has certainly become an essential and very popular drink over the years, especially with so many different Craft Gin distilleries coming up with more flavourful and innovative drinks. With the increase in the brands of Craft Gin available, more and more people are tending to prefer it to the standard mass-produced Gins these days, and when it comes to booze delivery in London, we see how much more popular it is than regular Gin.

Whether you prefer the mass-produced Gins or Craft Gin, did you know that there are several types of Gin available in the market? Each of these types has their own special way to drink them, so, here’s a small guide on how to enjoy the different types of Gin out there.

London Dry Gin – This is a well-balanced and well-loved Gin, and is best consumed as the classic Gin & Tonic. It is also ideal for a dry Martini.

Genever Gin – Genever is a classic Gin that offers spicy flavours and is rich and aromatic with a hint of sweetness. This style of Gin should not be mixed with any other drinks, but is best taken neat or on the rocks in order to retain its original flavour.

Old Tom Gin – An old-fashioned Gin that has recently become quite popular, it is the base for the Tom Collins cocktail. In this same style, it is best consumed chilled with a little ice, then strained into a glass with the addition of a lemon peel into it to give it its botanical fragrance.

Plymouth Gin – This is a Gin with very earthy tones, which includes a lot of fruits and botanicals. Savouring the botanicals of this Gin is important, hence drink it chilled with a garnish of orange or coriander to bring out those aromas.

Navy Strength Gin – This is one Gin that certainly packs a punch with a high volume of 58.8%. Since this is a very strong Gin it is not the ideal one for using as a base for cocktails, but is best to top off any cocktail with Navy Strength to give the drinker that essential kick. It is also good for making a dry Martini.
