Mozilla Firefox is one of the best and fastest browsers out there given by the Mozilla Foundation. But a few users have complained that they are unable to play any video on it. The issue is not limited to a particular website but persists elsewhere too, such as on YouTube, web embedded videos, or social media videos. If you are facing a similar issue on your system, here are some instructions to solve your problem.

Turn off Hardware Acceleration

You should follow these directions that are given below:

Firstly, launch the Firefox browser and select the Options through the hamburger icon.

After that, scroll to locate the option of Performance.

Then, untick the ‘Use Recommended Settings’ box which will display to you the option for enabling or disabling the ‘Hardware Acceleration’ option. Untick that too.

Now, reboot the browser.

Turn off Add-ons

Follow the directions given below:

Navigate to the Mozilla menu by selecting the hamburger icon on the upper right-hand corner. Click on the ‘Add-ons’ option.

After that, select the ‘Extensions’ option through the menu.

Now, you can view the list of the installed extensions on the browser.

Later, select the vertical ellipsis menu icon against every extension and click on the Disable option.

Finally, look at whether the issue is fixed. You may reboot the browser too although it is not needed.

Remove Cookies and Cache

You should select the ‘Options’ button.

Thereafter, select the ‘Privacy and Security’ option through the left-hand side panel.

Now, reboot the web browser.

Turn on Autoplay through Browser

You should follow these directions:

You should select the padlock at the left-hand side of the address bar and click on the arrow button.

Then choose the ‘More Information’ option, and it will launch a fresh menu.

Go to the Permissions section through the launched menu.

You will view a permissions list through the option of Autoplay, untick the User Default box.

Later, choose the button for ‘Allow Audio and Video.’

Now, reboot the browser.

Refresh the Firefox

Here is what you need to do:

Launch the Firefox browser on your system.

After that, select the hamburger menu icon at the upper right side of the screen.

Then choose the Help option.

You should choose the ‘troubleshooting information’ option.

Navigate to the right-hand side panel and click on the Refresh Firefox button to refresh the Firefox.

Now, confirm the action to refresh Firefox.

Turn on Autoplay

You should follow the directions given below:

Visit the site that is giving you issues.

After that, select the green padlock color icon show at the start of the link and turn on the autoplay feature.

Now, apply the changes and refresh the site and check whether the problem is fixed.

The aforementioned solutions can help if your Mozilla Firefox is unable to play videos. If the above solutions do not give results, you may try downgrading your Firefox or power-cycling the computer. Hope it helps!
