Mt Everest is a familiar name among adventure lovers. Nepal has announced a new height of Mt. Everest a few days ago. The Everest was 8,848m but, the new measurement says 8,848.86m. There are lots of people dreaming of reach the Everest base camp and managing the time. Thousands of adventure trekkers from all around the world are visiting this beautiful trek every year. You might be thinking that you need to have physically fit and need a long holiday to reach the base camp from Kathmandu. Of course! If you are planning a trek, you need to have a long holiday and physically fit, but you can reach within a couple of hours to the Everest base camp without any physical challenge.

Jiri to Everest Base Camp

Jiri Everest base camp trekking route is a classic route of the Everest base camp trek. There used to be hundreds of trekkers every day when there was no airport in Lukla. After the flights started to operate to Lukla from Kathmandu, we could only meet a couple of group trekkers on this trail. But, after Salleri route started a few years back, list numbers of trekkers are on this trail.

Jiri Everest base camp trek plan begins about 7 hours drive on a bus from Kathmandu and stay overnight there. After that, the trail goes to Bhandar passing Deurali and Shivalaya. The third journey will be to Sette than pass Lamjura La and trek to Junbesi on the fourth day. You will hike to Nunthala, Kharikhola and Chaurikharka before meeting Lukla Everest base camp trail.

Salleri to Everest Base Camp

Salleri to Everest base camp trekking route is a new route than other two hiking trails. Jeep driving road has constructed a few years back to Salleri from Kathmandu. There is an airport in Phaplu and were not regular flight schedules to start the trip from here. If trekkers would like to start the trip from Phaplu, they could charter a flight and most of the locals used to fly in this airport.

Salleri route is a few days shorter compared to the Jiri route and a few backpackers and people with a long holiday are choosing this route to reach Everest base camp from Kathmandu. Salleri route joins with Jiri route in Ringmo and treks to Nunthala, Kharikhola and Chaurikharka where Lukla route joins.

Lukla to Everest Base Camp

Lukla Everest base camp hiking plan is the most famous than the other two trails. There are millions of trekkers every year on this route. It starts with a short flight to Lukla airport from Kathmandu and leads the trek through Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorakshep.

Lukla to Everest base camp trip is a 12 days base camp journey from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. It takes eight days to reach the base camp from Kathmandu including two altitude practice days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. If you do not have twelve days for the trip, you can make it in nine days flying out on a helicopter to Kathmandu from Gorakshep after visiting the base camp. Helicopter return Everest base camp trek follows the same itinerary as twelve days one till Gorakshep and the base camp and fly back to Kathmandu directly on a helicopter flight.

Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

Everest base camp helicopter tour takes you to the base camp from Kathmandu within a couple of hours. It is the fastest and easiest way of visiting the Everest base camp. If you can’t trek, scare with altitude and cold temperature, or don’t have enough time for a trek, you can take a helicopter ride to reach Everest base camp from Kathmandu.

 Everest Heli tour is the landing tour so, the helicopter lands in several places in the mountain before reaching the base camp. You can get a group joining the trip to the Everest or can charter a flight. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to reach the base camp but want to explore Everest Himalaya, you can take a mountain flight tour to Everest from Kathmandu. It is the cheapest option of exploring Everest Himalaya in a couple of hours.
