In this article, we have discussed the ways using which you can send automated replies in the Signal app. Though Signal offers additional layers of security to the user, it is still missing a crucial feature, i.e., Automated Replies, which is present on other widely recognized messaging apps. After releasing apps for automated replies on Instagram, Messenger, and Telegram, previously, the developer named TK Studio has recently launched an app for automated responses on Signal. The developer has introduced it as “AutoResponder,” and it has been released observing the massive adoption of the secure messaging app.

Send Automated Replies in Signal

You don’t need to login into your Signal account to use AutoResponder; rather, it makes use of notification access in order to detect the incoming messages on Signal. On installing the app, you need to grant notification access permissions so as to let it work without any troubles.

  1. First, you need to head over to the PlayStore, and in the search bar, type “AutoResponder” in the search bar.
  2. Once you have located it, download it.
  3. Further, you need to launch it and grant notification access permission. Then click on the “Get Started” button and turn on the toggle for “AutoResponder for SGNL” appearing on the notification access page.
  4. Now, tap on the floating action button “+” appearing on the home page so as to create a new rule. On that interface, a user can easily configure what should be the received messages and what needs to be its response. The free version of the app provides exact match and similarity match for messages; however, with the pro subscription, you will get prominent features like expert matching, pattern matching, welcome message, and more.
  5. After selecting both received and reply messages, further choose if you want the rule to be activated for groups, individuals, or both. Also, you can configure the app to work with particular contacts and ignore specific contacts if desired. For that, you need to tap on the checkmark FAB in order to save the rule.
  6. We tried to configure the app to give a response with “Hello” when “Hi” is received as an incoming message and “Welcome” when a Signal user sends “Hello,” and the app worked as we intended it to. It automatically responded to the incoming messages. Meanwhile, if you need to disable the app’s notification, long-press it. This will restrict it if you don’t want to see your chat logs under the notification shade.

Features of AutoResponder for Signal

So, what exactly does “AutoResponder” has to offer? Well, to understand this, let’s look into the list of features that have been provided by the developer. The “AutoResponder” app offers:

  1. Automatic replies to the Signal messages.
  2. Reacts to every incoming message when you, the users, are busy.
  3. Sends replies to particular messages.
  4. Pro version offers welcome texts for new chats.
  5. Live answer replacements.
  6. Pro version offers several replies in a single rule.
  7. Effectively works with both groups as well as contacts.
  8. Specify and ignore groups and contacts.
  9. Automatic scheduler with an ability like delaying.
  10. Pro version offers AI with Dialogflow.com alongside tasker plugin.
  11. Easy recovery with the backup rules.

So, these were the instructions using which you can send automated replies in Signal. If you are a regular user, the free version which offers automated messages would be sufficient for you to run a small business. However, if you need to use advanced features like Tasker integration, welcome messages, and more, you will need a Pro subscription.

That’s all from us for now. So, have you used the Automated Replies feature on Signal yet? Do let us know your opinion about it in the comment section below.
