  • Set the “Amount” between 100 and 200 percent. For “Radius” to reduce Noise features.
  • Smoothly increase the amount via slider appears on your screen and notice the sharpness of the picture look as you like.
  • When you are happy with the picture, tap “OK” to activate filter.
  • After the process filter will be applied to the duplicate layer. If you like this filter, then you can use the marquee tool to choose parts of your second layer to remove the filter applied.
  • Select parts on image and tap the Delete button on the keyboard to delete parts to its expose portion of the default layer. It can also allow you to focus on the sharpness selected part of your image.

Using the Unsharp Mask Filter in Adobe Photoshop

Alternatively, the user can also use the unsharp mask filter to the Smart Sharpen filter. It works the same as Smart Sharpen but unlike the filter, your picture has less noise showing on your image.

Here are the steps on how to Using the Unsharp Mask Filter in Adobe Photoshop:

  • Open an image in Photoshop, and remember to layer panel is visible, now duplicate picture layer by right-tapping on the layer in the layer panel and then tap the “Duplicate layer” button.
  • When the layer becomes duplicate, tap Filter and then hit Unsharp Mask.
  • In the “Unsharp Mask” checkbox, you need to sure that “Preview” is enabled. Change the slider on your required, see the picture preview and check the collision on your picture as you like.
  • Open with amount figure approx 50 percent and radios is in between 1 to 2 increasing as you want. You can also leave the “Threshold” figure to “0”, but you can maximize this when the picture required much sharpening.
  • If you are happy with your image, choose the “OK” option and then apply the change with the filter you like.
  • You can also make changes to your overall picture by marquee tool and then choose a portion of your image to duplicate.
  • When all layer is selected, tap delete key on your keyboard to delete sharpens area and exposing default layer.
