In this article, we have covered a few easy methods to take screenshots on Windows 10. We have mentioned ways to capture the screen using a keyboard shortcut, the Snip & Sketch Tool, the Windows Game Bar, and the Snipping Tool.

Using “Print Screen”

Using “Print Screen” or “prt sc” is the most basic and most straightforward method to capture your screen. On your Windows 10 PC, you need to use the PrtSc + Windows key combination. Users will observe a brief flash on their screens, indicating that the screen has been captured. The recently captured screenshot can be accessed from the dedicated Screenshot folder in Pictures on your PC.

However, being the most effortless way is not always the best way. This method captures the entire screen; however, it may not be beneficial if you want to obtain only a part rather than the entire screen.

Using “Snip & Sketch”

You can capture your screen using “Snip & Sketch,” you can access it through a shortcut combination of keys: Windows + Shift + S or directly choose it from the Start menu. As soon as the tool gets activated, several options will appear on your screen. You may choose from either Rectangle Snip, Freeform Snip, Window Snip, or Fullscreen Snip. The captured screen will get saved on your Clipboard, and a related notification will appear on your screen’s corner. You can then share the screenshot by clicking on the notification.

When you click on the notification, the Snip & Sketch tool will appear, with the help of which you save, mark-up, or share screenshots easily. While saving the screenshot, you can save it at the desired place. The screenshot remains on your Clipboard, and you can save it on your hard drive. The captured image will stay on your Clipboard till the time it is replaced with the other one.

Using a Snipping Tool

Snipping Tool has remained a reliable Windows part since Vista. Even though it has been removed from “Start,” you can still have access to it from the Search Bar. To access it, click on the search bar and type Snipping Tool and then select the option appearing for it under the results. The Snipping Tool offers you two options to capture the screen on your PC

The “Mode” option allows users to decide whether they want a rectangular snip, Free-Form snip, full-screen snip, or Window snip. By default, the rectangular mode is set, which you can change later on whenever required. The “Delay” option allows users to set a delay for the screenshots from 1-5 seconds.

After setting the desired location to be captured, to capture a new shot, click on New. The area that isn’t getting captured can be seen in the white overlay. After capturing the screenshot, it will appear in the Snipping Tool, where you can save, mark-up, or share it.

The screenshots captured by the Snipping Tool do not get saved by themselves, anywhere. So, you have to tap on File and click on Save As, and your screenshot will get saved on your system’s hard drive.

Using a Game Bar

The Game Bar lets users capture the screen, record, and even broadcast it with others. Even though it is designed for gaming, it can be used for capturing screenshots related to other purposes. You need to click the “Windows key + G” key on the keyboard to open it. Then tap on the “Capture icon” on the screen that has appeared or press Windows Key + Alt + PrtSc while you are on your Game Bar screen. The screen will be captured immediately and will get saved to your hard drive instantly.

So, these were the steps with the help of which you can take the screenshots on Windows 10.
