The first look of the third installment has been released. A featurette that has been released as a first look for the upcoming film sees Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in action as the on-screen couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. In the upcoming film, the famous paranormal investigators would look to pave their way amidst another supernatural chaos.

The third film of the Conjuring franchise titled “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” would mark the return of Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren just two years after their stint in the 2019 horror blockbuster “Annabelle Comes Home.”

The film was supposed to be released in September of this year, but it has been delayed until June 2021. However, there is nothing to worry about as Warner Bros. is in no mood to delay it any further, and if everything is all safe and sound, you can very well expect the film to come around June of next year.

The producers have even released the first look of the highly anticipated horror film via a short film titled “Faith & Fear: The Conjuring Universe Behind the Scenes.”

James Wan, also famed for his success with the 2018 film “Aquaman,” will produce the film, which will be directed by the filmmaker Michael Chaves who is renowned for directing another supernatural film, “The Curse of La Llorona.”

Filmmaker Chaves has also made a statement regarding his directorial venture. He revealed his plans to make the film something different from what we have already seen in the franchise. Chaves wanted to move the movie set away from its usual solitary haunted house tradition and transcend it to another level.

The brief description released about the film gives us some ideas about the plot. If you have read it, you can find some uncanny resemblance to the 2005 critically acclaimed film “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” (which was also based on a true story of Anneliese Michel). However, in Conjuring 3, the accused himself claims that the crimes he committed were an act of demonic possession. The synopsis also reveals that it is one of the most sensational cases from Ed and Lorraine's case file. It commences with a struggle for the soul of a young boy and then takes an interesting turn with the convict pleading innocence because he thinks he was demonically possessed. The synopsis claims that this Ed and Lorraine Warren's case is the only such case in the history of the United States.

For now, the film “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” has been slotted a release date of June the 4th, 2021.

The second film in the franchise has been regarded as one of the best horror films of all time and was exceptionally praised for its innovative storytelling. Conjuring 2 was the first film that showed the extent of the cruelty and the horrifying nature of the franchise's main villain Valak (The Nun). The 2018 film “The Nun” was Valak's origin story.

Verified actress Vera Farmiga ably plays the lead character Lorraine Warren while Insidious, and Aquaman actor Patrick Wilson plays her partner and husband, Ed Warren.

Annabelle franchise is another spinoff from the Conjuring films where the duo reprise their roles of the paranormal investigators turned couple.

Ed and Lorraine Warren were real-life paranormal investigators mainly associated with Amityville horror and other notable horror incidents in the United States. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson play the fictionalized version of the couple.
