Robot Entertainment released Orcs Must Die 3 in summer 2020, a much-awaited sequel to the developer’s hit video game series Orcs Must Die. The fourth installment was released after eight years and its graphics, enhanced gameplay features and storyline justifies why this game was released after so many years.

To everyone’s delight, Orcs Must Die, and Orcs Must Die 2 are available on Steam, the ultimate destination for playing, discussing, and creating games. Both the versions were subject to positive reviews by both gamers and critics. The third installment, Orcs Must Die: Unchained was released by Robot Entertainment as a free to play title. But the gaming servers were shut down in 2019. The latest version was released as one of the latest exclusive games on the gaming platform, Google Stadia.

Here is a review of one of the most popular video games in the Action/Tower Défense genre and published by Robot Entertainment/Google.

Makers Bring Back Fan Favourite Gameplay

Robot Entertainment has added the same tower defense-style gameplay, and something people have enjoyed over the years in the original games. The makers have also increased the number of Orcs on the screen at one go without compromising the gameplay experience. According to reports, the team showcased about 500 invading orcs on the screen at the same time.

According to sources, gamers will have the freedom to build their game heroes with many more customizations, with a few options of boosting abilities of the character they create. This game will be unlike others because the battles will be fought on extravagant sets such as the castle setup that will have the heroes stationed at the castle walls, waiting to destroy Orcs charging towards the stone-built establishment.

Official Trailer Builds up Excitement With Exclusive Footage

When the official launch trailer of the game premiered, a particular sequence showed that the setup inside the castle had booby traps to destroy enemy Orcs. If you plan to play the war scenario, you will be able to build humongous catapults that throw cannonballs directly into the charging enemy. This piece of defense is favorable in a fort/castle setup. Ardent fans will be excited to know that there are several war missions available for them.

The unique thing about Orcs Must Die 3 is that every character which is unlocked after completing a campaign has a unique ability. In addition to the skills, each character has a pre-assigned weapon in a particular battle. One character has a shotgun while the other has been given a bow. People playing Orcs Must Die 3 can also take any weapon provided they are ready to sacrifice their inventory slots.

Not-So Worthy Sequel to Orcs Must Die 2

The fourth installment has a drawback, and it downplays the question of creativity. Many of the bad guys in this version are almost the same as compared to Orcs Must Die 2. For example, Archers with dynamite arrows, gnoll hunters. A notable addition to the evil side is the purple-colored Orcs called Fire Brands. They are immune to fire and vulnerable to ice.

Orcs Must Die 3 was the long due sequel to Orcs Must Die 2, but it feels more like an enhanced and extended version of the 2012 game than a brand-new setup. Even though a wide range of battle maps is a plus point, the villains and war levels do not match expectations from the gaming world.
