Health Insurance 

Non-EU students are required to posess a Health Insurance before applying for a residence permit as this is one of the prerequisites of acquiring a residence permit.

There are three options for international students to apply for health insurance. They are:

1. You can register with Italian health service– this can be done at your local health authority

2. You can acquire a policy from a Private Health Insurance company in Italy– this can be done before or after your arrival into Italy

3. You can purchase a Private Health Insurance policy in your Homeland– this type of insurance has to be verified and validated by the Italian Embassy, and the document has to be translated into either Italian or English if it is already not in either of the languages.

Residence permit 

Once you get your visa, you need to apply for a residence permit if you are from a non-EU or EFTA country.

You are obliged to apply for a residence permit within 8 days of your arrival into Italy.

You can file an application for a residence permit at one of the post offices in the city where you are living.

Your educational institute will assist if you need any additional information in getting a residence permit.

Language 

Many courses are instructed and explained in English, but many others are taught in Italian too. It is not obligatory, but it is better if you learn the Italian language before moving to Italy. But you can manage with English too.

Learning a new language is very advantageous as it will look terrific on your resume or CV. Interacting with local people will also increase your Italian proficiency to a greater extent.

The chances of your employment, after the completion of your studies, will also increase to ten folds if you have the Italian language proficiency.
