A few months ago, Kristen Bell left her gig of voicing a biracial character on Apple TV+’s show “Central Park ” named, Molly. Now the actress is finally opening up about her decision.

Kristen Bell is an American actress, producer, and singer. She studied acting from the reputed Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She started with an uncredited role in the film Polish Wedding in 1998. Bell then appeared in the action thriller movie Spartan and received praise for her performance in the TV drama in Gracie’s Choice.

The actress played the titular role in a TV series drama Veronica Mars. She won the Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television for the role. Kristen Bell starred in a musical movie Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical as Mary Lane. She featured in a science fiction drama series titled, Heroes and played the role of  Elle Bishop.

Bell did her debut in films as the title role in the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. She later appeared in several comedy movies including You Again,  When in Rome, Bad Moms,  A Bad Moms Christmas, and  Couples Retreat.

In a recent interview, the 40-year-old actress said that she grew up in Detroit. She did not consider herself a racist. When she read ‘How to Be an Antiracist’, ‘White Fragility’- she realized she had been part of the system. And she was unaware of the whole thing. She added, she has a lot to learn. And she has to take steps to fulfill what she thinks her beliefs are.

Central Park is a musical animated show created by Nora Smith, Loren Bouchard, and Josh Gad. The show aired on Apple TV+ on 29 May 2020. The story of the series revolves around a family living in Central Park in New York City who is trying to save the land from greedy developers.

In July 2020, America was in between the protests and unrest for racial justice. And the actress removed herself from the part, and actress  Emmy Raver-Lampman replaced her..

Bell acknowledged the argument and said that stepping away from the role was the best decision she could make. She added the people who think that she could play the role are not wrong. But she stepped down from the project for two reasons. One, according to Bell, she would happily leave a role for some other other actress who might well fit in the character and who does not have another job because of the limited mixed-race characters in cartoons. Second, she wants every small Black or mixed-race girl who watches the character to be able to connect with the actress behind it.
