This is a hill fort. It was created by Rao Jodha in 1459. Mehran is known as Garh. Meheran Garh is the name of the two Kavdantiya prevalent (1), the fort of Jodhpur built from the Lal Pathro, due to Mehrangarh, Meura Akrati, is also called Meurdhwar Gadh. The sacrifice of Razia Bhambhi (Rajaram Megawal) is important in the construction of the fort.

(02) Some architects give their opinion in favor of this nomenclature due to its absence as a peacock.

Rao Jodha was a worshiper of the sun, so he named this fort as Mihirgarh. But in the Rajasthani dialect, the vow was turned from Mihirgarh to Mehranangarh. Rathore also considers himself a descendant of Sun. The original part of the fort was constructed by Jodhpur founder Rao Jodha in 1459. After this, Jaswant Singh, who was ruling from 1538 to 1578, expanded the fort. The seven huge gates for admission to the fort are decorated with it. In 1806 Maharaja Mansingh constructed Jaipol in the fort in the wake of victory over Jaipur and Bikaner. Earlier in 1707 Fatalpol was constructed in the celebration of victory over the Mughals. Dard Kamarapole, Lohapol, etc. in the fort complex also increases the prestige of the fort. There is also a temple of Sati Mata in the fort complex. After Maharaja Mansingh passed away in 1843, his wife sat on a pyre and gave birth. This temple was built in memory of him.
