Eraser Head’s powers have always been hidden or subtle throughout the series, but there is more to this sleepy head hero of My Hero Academia than his tired face and messy hairstyle.

In My Hero Academia, heroes and villains make fair use of their powers while defeating the opponents. This power comes from their Quirk, and each Quirk is unique to its user. Heroes use the Quirk power to fight aliens, monsters, and earthy villains. On the other hand, villains use this power to assert dominance over territories.

In the U.A. Class 1-A of My Hero Academia, Shota Aizawa is the homeroom teacher and a mentor to new generation heroes. Unlike the show’s protagonist and other stronger heroes, Shota Aizawa Quirk is not offensive. He doesn’t produce fire, strong fists, or strong attacks, but Shota Aizawa’s Quirk can disable others’ Quirk, and he uses tools and strategies to finish his foes. In other words, he is the Batman of My Hero Academia.

Throughout the series, it was evident that having a powerful Quirk automatically makes you a better hero, but Shota Aizawa detests this theory and proved that a powerful Quirk is not everything. To become a pro hero, one needs to find their powers and use whatever they had at the disposal to help others. This theory also applies to Allmight, who is the strongest pro hero of the M.H.A. series.

Eraser Head’s floating ribbon

My Hero Academia heroes can use physical objects to crush and squash their enemies, but Eraser Head doesn’t follow this trend. He uses a ribbon that always floats around him like a pair of extra hands to catch his enemies. This underrated ribbon power was more prevalent in his fight when a few of the League of Villains attacked the U.S.J. complex. During the confrontation, Shota Aizawa uses his ribbon as tentacles and restrains three strong villains at once. Of course, he used his Quirk to void their Quirk, but the weaponry Shota uses is on some other level of creativeness that no other hero can master.

It is worth noting that Shota’s floating ribbon is a dangerous weapon as it might look like another cloth on the surface. It is a steel wire alloy woven cloth with carbon nanofibers type of material, which is effective against any Quirk users regardless of how powerful they are.

Eraser Head’s quick reflexes

Despite his always tired and exhausted looking personality, Shota Aizawa has some of the best body reflexes in the show. He is often seen napping around in his sleeping bag and always talking in a monotonous voice as he has been tired of his life. Still, underneath it all, Shota uses his body in hand-to-hand combat, and in most of the fights, his enemies can’t keep up with his speed and agility.

Even when sparring with the two strongest Quirk users Shoto and Momo, Eraser Head was able to defeat them. For someone who primarily depends on their Quirk for fights, Eraser’s head quick reflexes and battle strategies outwit both the young heroes. He uses his Caltrops to lay traps for Shoto Todoroki. He suspends him in the air with his floating ribbon.

Eraser Head’s Goggles

Shota Aizawa uses a Quirk nullifying Quirk that repeals his enemies Quirk if they see directly into his eyes. This Quirk puts a strain on Shota’s eyes, and he wears custom-made Goggles, which are hidden under his long ribbon around his neck. To use his Quirk effectively, Shota Aizawa wears his  Goggles to hide his line of sight, confusing the enemies about whose Quirk has been erased.

During his days as a U.A. school student, his friend and best pal, Oboro Shirakumo, gifted this pair of Goggles to protect Shota Aizawa’s eyes from draining while he uses his Quirk.

As a unique ability user, Shota Aizawa also possesses some incredible knife skills to fight in close-range battles. If we add up all the weapons under his arsenal, plus his nullifying Quirk, Shota Aizawa is one of the strongest and dangerous heroes of the My Hero Academia. Of course, he won’t be able to beat S Class villainous, but as long as he is the U.A. school teacher, nobody can infiltrate his school on his accounts.
