The Jacksonville Jaguars will choose who will be the overall pick with the 2021 NFL Draft no surprise, and the team made those assumptions official last month when they said commissioner Roger Goodellka “Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence is considered not only the best quarterback in the league but also one of the best players. It was recently revealed that there was another player the size of the Jaguars – who were eventually selected by another team in Florida.

The Jaguars have created a series of teams on their official website called “The Hunt” that allows fans to watch behind the scenes in the off-season, draft, and even rookie mini-camp. Providing behind-the-scenes looks certainly open you up about something, and Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports makes an interesting comment, which is pretty remarkable.

At about 6:51 of the third period, Jaguar owner Shad Khan can be seen placing Lawrence's magnet atop the board. His draft score is clearly read as 8.0, which is clearly very high. We know this because Yahoo Sports points to Jacksonville's other prospects on its board of directors. However, there is another 8.0 grader, former Alabama wide receiver Jaylen J. Waddell.

Waddell played only six games last year because of injury, but still caught 28 passes for 591 yards and four touchdowns. The dynamic player rushed in his first season in Tuscaloosa, caught 45 passes for 848 yards and seven touchdowns, and was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Year and SEC Freshman of the Year. He was named the first All-SEC team in 2019 and the second-team All-SEC in 2020.

Waddell was drafted by the Miami Dolphins, in sixth place overall, behind compatriot Jamal Chase, who finished fifth for the Cincinnati Bengals. We don't know what Jaggers did to players like Chase or Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith, but obviously, the Jaguars did a great job with Waddell, who is probably the number one catcher in their class. Sharing an 8.0 draft pick with Lawrence certainly makes it look like this.
