The NutriBullet is known for its super fruit and veg-blitzing powers and thus has become a favorite home appliance for any health nut out there wanting to get their week’s worth of nutrients in one serving. The beauty of the NutriBullet – and what sets it apart from weaker rivals – is its high wattage, which means you can throw just about anything in it and it will blend it down to the finest paste in seconds, ready for gulping.

But to keep things fresh, NutriBullet the company couldn’t just keep bringing us new blenders that are more powerful; they had to think of something a bit more…modern, like connecting it to the internet, for instance. And so here we have the NutriBullet Balance.

The NutriBullet Balance is the smartest blender the firm's ever released

NutriBullet

Launching in the UK just this month, the NutriBullet Balance uses its SMART Nutrition System which sees the blender connect to an app on a smartphone or tablet, and give real-time nutrition data,  down to the very gram. It does this by weighing the food that you put into it, measuring and tracking as you pop them into it. It can, therefore, count calories, proteins, carbs, fats, and sugar content of recipes by using the built-in Nutrition Sensor. This is all about making it easier to make healthy smoothies as users can following the recipes built into the app, which are suggested based on the user's personal tastes and nutritional goals.

Most home appliances and gadgets have introduced connectivity these days, and I’ll admit, many don’t really need to – merely being connected for connectivity’s sake. But the NutriBullet Balance, thankfully, doesn’t fall into this category. I know because I got my hands on the device for the first time just yesterday, and so I thought I’d detail my experiences with it and how well these smart features actually work in reality.

The Balance is surprisingly fast to set up. After pulling it out of the box, I downloaded the companion app to my phone, and within a few minutes, it was ready to go. The app was easy to install and it saw the Balance connecting to my phone immediately as soon as I turned Bluetooth on, something that almost never happens with new Bluetooth powered home tech. I was ready to blitz my first smoothie in no time at all.

Setting up the Balance was completed in my kitchen in literally minutes

With 1200W power, the Balance is one of the most powerful NutriBullet blenders out there (behind the RX), more so than the cheaper NutriBullet Pro, for instance, which is clocked at 900W. I have been using the latter on almost a daily basis for the past year,
