What is OCD? Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is generally characterized by having obsessions and compulsions. Sometimes it’s just one or the other. Obsessions are thoughts images, impulses, urges that come into your mind repeatedly against your will and usually cause marked distress. Compulsions are the behaviors that relieve this distress. Some examples of compulsions are engaging in avoidance, reassurance seeking, reviewing thoughts or situations, checking, washing, and cleaning. These behaviors and thoughts cause significant disturbance to daily life.

While everyone experiences anxiety in some form, anxiety disorders often manifest as enhanced avoidance of stressors. While some of these avoidance behaviors may initially be manageable, anxiety disorders have a tendency to grow in severity over time if left untreated.
While our practice focuses on Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, we can also help identify and treat additional disorders like stress, illness, eating difficulties, health concerns, depression, mood issues, relationship difficulties, and sleep disorders.
