What is Rahu Dosha?
Rahu and Ketu are termed shadow planets in Vedic astrology. They were actually demons or asuras who helped the devas churn Amrit or the elixir of immortality from the Milky Ocean. They also disguised themselves and sat with the devas to drink the ‘Amrit’. But after one sip, they were discovered, and Vishnu cut off their heads with his Sudharshan Chakra. As they had a sip of the nectar, they became immortal. Rahu and Ketu cause a lot of trouble to people if they are found in their birth charts. This is called Rahu or Ketu Dosha.
When Rahu is malefic in the horoscope, it is likely to cause sudden disasters, chronic illness, insanity, wounds, lack of mental peace, and even death. People with malefic Rahu often have fights and arguments with those in their neighborhood or workplace. Such people are always plagued by feelings of doubt and betrayal. They may have sleepless nights due to mental disturbance and have weird dreams, which often feature reptiles.

2) Worship Lord Shiva
Shiva is the lord and master of Shani, Rahu, and Ketu. Hence, bathing Shiva in milk, ghee, and Gangajal is believed to bring relief from the adverse effects of Rahu Dosha. If there is Rahu Dosha in your horoscope, pray to Shiva and chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya‘ 21 times a day.
3)Perform Rahu Shanti Pooja
A special Pooja called the Rahu, and Ketu Shanti Pooja should be performed to please Rahu and get his blessings for a successful life.
4)Visit Srikalahasti Temple
The Srikalahasti temple in Andhra Pradesh is famous as a sacred spot to get relief from Rahu Dosha. Hordes of devotees visit the temple every year to perform the Rahu Shanti Pooja and get ‘darshan’ of the ancient Shiva Linga there. This temple is a big draw among those who face problems in life due to Rahu and Ketu. It is said that Rahu and Ketu reside here.
5)Perform Acts of Charity
On the Amavasya day, donate 4 coconuts to any temple. Food items like wheat and banana can be donated to the poor, and it is a very good remedy for Rahu Dosha. Generally, helping the poor with a clean heart brings good results in life for those with Rahu Dosha. But one should do good deeds out of genuine love and compassion, and not merely to gain personal benefits.
By performing these remedies, you can reduce or nullify the ill effects of Rahu and lead a happy and successful life.
