The upcoming season 4 of Young Sheldon will be a continuing series of The Big Bang Theory.
Young Sheldon is a sitcom TV show created by Steven Molaro and Chuck Lorre for CBS. The show is a prequel to the popular show The Big Bang Theory. The show starts with the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine. He lives with his family in East Texas and goes to a high school.
Iain Armitage played the title role of Young Sheldon alongside Montana Jordan, Zoe Perry, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, and Lance Barber. And Jim Parsons narrates the show as adult Sheldon. Parson also serves as the executive producer.
The development of the prequel series started in 2016. The first season of the series premiered on 25 September 2017 as a special preview. Later CBS picked up the series for 22 episodes and released it on 2 November 2017.
As the name suggested, Young Sheldon centers around the nine-year-old Sheldon, his attempts to fit in with family and school. He also feels that he does not have much in common with them because of his high intellect.
Since the show is a prequel of the TV series The Big Bang Theory, it has many references to the original show. Bob Newhart has guest-starred on both the shows as Professor Proton. Kaley Cuoco, who played Penny in the original front, The Big Bang Theory, also appeared in the prequel series Young Sheldon Season 3 in a different character. The finale of the second season of Young Sheldon aired on the same night as The Big Bang Theory’s finale.
In an interview with TVLine, the co-creator of Young Sheldon, Steve Molaro, shared that fans of the original show are excited for the premiere of season 4. Molaro added that Parsons’ involvement in the season, but Adult Sheldon is not alone in the narration. And the unexpected continuation of the storyline of The Big Bang Theory is fun.
However, the team has not revealed who will join Parson in the narration. It is hard to guess as the original series did have any narrator of the series, so no one has any clue. It will be fun and more comfortable to add voiceover than introducing a character in person. It is hard to feature some characters from the original series. And the studio is also trying to limit the guest stars due to the pandemic COVID-19. Instead, it would be convenient for the actor to do the voiceover from home.
Young Sheldon is fairly accepted by the audience and received a 76% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 45 reviews with an average rating of 6.61/10. Iain Armitage won the Young Artist Awards in 2018 for Best Performance in a TV Series- Leading Young Actor.
The upcoming season of the series Young Sheldon is on speculation as the creators shared it would be a “continuation of the original storyline.” It gives some hints that a Big Bang Character will join the adult Sheldon for some kind of joke from the original series of references. Hopefully, the show has some fun moments for its fans. The fourth season of Young Sheldon streamed on 5 November 2020.
