Sims 4 is a popular life simulation game in which the players have to create characters and make choices to explore their changing personalities as the game rolls on. There are also Sims moodlets that let the player change Sims’ emotional state, opening more options for newer interactions. Similar to its predecessor, there are no dearth of challenges in the much-loved game. The most popular of them is the Legacy challenge in which one has to make a single Sim and attempt to help survive its family line for more than ten generations.

According to recent reports, Sims 4 is planning to add 100 new skins tones swatches in variations of tones expected to release this December. But before that happens, there are also going to be updates for Mac and PC that are scheduled for October 6 and November 10 for consoles that aim to address existing skin tones issues. It will probably have an advancement on the ashy appearance and smudgeness of the darker skin tones. The game has a history of erroneously illustrating darker skin tones that has been called out a lot of times. Then there is also the issue of hairstyle options for Black Simmers, in response to which the game is all set to update the two available hairstyle options before December, which seems like a step in the right direction.

The Sims 4 will be including more than a hundred skin color swatches with the option to choose in Cool, neutral, and warm tones with specific attention on darker skin tones. Another one of the Sims community suggestions has been implemented as the December update is all set to have a slider on all swatches using which one can change the skin color as per convenience. There will also be an improved makeup slider that can be used to adjust the skin tone’s accuracy with tons of makeup options.

So, the December update seems to come with tons of newer options to adjust skin tones and more hairstyles to choose from. It is commendable that the developers have taken the Sims community’s suggestions seriously and have implemented them in the game as well, which is something unique. Most often, developers pay little attention to what the players are expecting from them. But that is not the case with Sims developers, who have taken care of its community’s issues and set an example for the developer of other games to follow.
