Microsoft is not the only company that has experienced a spike in business-focused communications and chat app. Today, Slack revealed that the company had touched a new user record regarding business communications and chat apps amid the ongoing health issue emergency. The surge in demand for video chat apps has increased due to the current health issue emergency, which has forced the people to stay at home. The companies have also asked their employees to work from home, which needs business-focused chat apps for arranging meetings and doing other official work. Meanwhile, Slack has revealed the data of the users for the last few months, which are indicating a whopping surge in users.

According to the data released by Slack, it is clear that the company has witnessed an enormous surge regarding users, as 12.5 million users are using the facilities till now. Slack revealed that the company had 10 million concurrent users on March 10, which further increased to 10.5 and then it touched 12.5 million. However, the company has not revealed any data regarding its users who are active daily, as the current data is only about the recently connected users. Before that, Slack had also announced the data regarding active users in October, which was 12 million, but till then and now, the company has never updated the number.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Teams has also experienced an unprecedented surge in communication and chat apps worldwide, which has touched a whopping 44 million active users over the few weeks. The rise in demand for communication and chat apps has led Microsoft Teams to announce the more improved features in Microsoft Teams. Undoubtedly, the demand has increased due to the ongoing current health issue scenario, which has forced many businesses to adjust for remote working. The closure and schools, colleges, universities, and research units have also increased the adoption of the techniques of e-learning, contributing to the increased demand for such apps. Amidst all, Microsoft Teams has improved the features of its apps so that people can experience better user experience in conducting remote meetings.

Slack is also trying hard for steering the conversation to know how much appreciation has been received by its apps from the users and what is the current scenario of demand its apps in comparison to competitors. Meanwhile, Slack has also taken steps to introduce new features in its communication apps for enhancing the user experience. The company has focused on the customization and simplification of its apps so that a large number of users can adopt it. However, the CEO of Slack, Stewart Butterfield, has said that even though the company has introduced many new, improved features in its business-focused chat and communication apps, still there is a lot to do in the future. He further mentioned that the company is trying hard to simplify the apps and guiding the people so they can use the apps effectively.

The company has also revealed that IBM has preferred business communication and chat apps of Slack over Microsoft Teams. It was said by the company that IBM will use the chat and communication apps of Slack for its employees, which are almost 33,000 in numbers. Slack is also focusing on Zoom which has been preferred by a large number of users in the current scenario.
