Firetronics offer an extensive range of detectors that will cater to every need; from smoke detectors like photoelectric smoke detectors, projected beam smoke detectors and ionization smoke detector to heat detectors such as rate of rising and fixed temperature heat detectors. Even detectors for special applications such as air duct detectors, gas detectors, gas leak detectors, and linear heat detectors. The flame detectors namely Nohmi infrared flame detectors and explosion-proof detectors.

Photoelectric smoke alarms are generally more responsive to fires that begin with a long period of smoldering also known as “smoldering fires”.

How they work: Photoelectric-type alarms aim a light source into a sensing chamber at an angle away from the sensor. Smoke enters the chamber, reflecting light onto the light sensor; triggering the alarm.

The photoelectric smoke detectors can detect fire in an earlier stage than a heat detector. Generally, this detector is installed in spaces such as basements, ordinary floors, corridors, staircases, and elevator shafts.Ionization smoke alarms are generally more responsive to flaming fires. E.g. Grease fire in the kitchen, paper burning in a waste basket

How they work: Ionization-type smoke alarms have a small amount of radioactive material between two electrically charged plates, which ionizes the air and causes current to flow between the plates. When smoke enters the chamber, it disrupts the flow of ions, thus reducing the flow of current and activating the alarm.There are two methods for detecting fire from the presence of heat via thermal detectors;

1. Fixed temperature heat detectors operate when the ambient temperature increases sufficiently to predetermined level where the heat detector will operate; or

2. A rate-of-rise heat detector operates when the ambient temperature increases over time equal to or greater than the rate of change the detector was manufactured to operate.

We have waterproof types, which are suitable for use in highly humid environments such as kitchen, bathroom, and drying room.A flame detector is a device that detects the presence of a flame due to combustion. It detects the flame by optical sensing, ionization, or by heat detection means, and often forms part of a system of active fire protection used in fire alarm systems and in applications where the presence of a flame, such as a pilot light is necessary for operational safety.

Our Infrared (IR) flame detectors work within the infrared spectral band. Hot gases emit specific spectral patterns in the infrared region, which can be sensed using a specialized thermal imaging camera (TIC) for fire-fighting, a type of thermographic camera. False alarms can be caused by other hot surfaces and background thermal radiation in the area, as well as blinding from water and solar energy. A typical frequency in which a single frequency IR flame detector is sensitive lies within the 4.4 micrometer range. Typical response time is 3–5 seconds.

Suitable for Atrium, Theater, Museum, Lobby & Piloti
