ROE, or Rules of Engagement, are a set of directives, which are issued by military authority. They did not understand the Rules of Engagement either; hence, they attacked swiftly and frequently. This rendered the perception of American soldiers as weak and unable to fight.

A battalion is a military unit that comprises of around 300 – 1200 soldiers, and it, usually consists of two to seven companies. These companies are often commanded by a lieutenant colonel. These commanders adhered to the Engagement rules and even taught them to their soldiers. However, commanders did not comprehend them fully, nor did they bolster the war.
