In January 2020, everyone was optimistic about seeing the future clearly (get it?) and making grand plans for the year ahead. Celebrations, graduations, stag parties, anniversaries, name it, everyone was in a more heightened mood for celebration in such an attractive sounding year. 2020.
So attractive that a never-known virus quickly made 2020 its year, spreading disease and chaos across the nation and the world. Halting physical operations, filling up hospitals, shutting down social hotspots, such as bistros, bars, clubs, and restaurants dampened the spirits of millions of Australians, not to mention affecting the livelihood and businesses of countless people across all industries.
Not too long, we realised a lot of simple pleasures we took for granted. Walking around without a mask, hugging friends and family, going out for beers with your best mates, and taking your significant other on a beautiful date with a fantastic meal in a place with great ambience.
The pandemic is far from over, but we have been resilient and we are slowly recovering. In many aspects, we are starting to slowly but surely recover our health, our relationships, our personal and mental welfare, and our joys out of life.
