The Google Pixel is reportedly launching its upcoming Pixel 6 this year powered by Google Silicon, but its arrival will be different from the usual Pixel release dates. And According to 9to5 Google, Pixel devices will use custom Google silicon.

As per reports, the Pixel 6 will feature a Google Silicon processor and will be the first smartphone to use Google Silicon. As per reports, the Pixel 6 phone is codenamed Raven and Oriole and will use the SoC (system on chip). The big change in the main processor could also affect the design of other Google products, especially the Chromebook, which may also use Google Silicon.

Although the release dates have not been announced yet, more guesses are made about its release date and features.

The pixel will be powered by the new ‘Whitechapel’ chip

Pixel 6 will be the first device to run on the GS101 Whitechapel chip. Whitechapel chips are the system on a chip created by Google. As per reports the Google will not use chips made by Qualcomm but will instead make their own chips. These chips are similar to Apple iPhone and Mac, and as per reports, Google is co-developing the chip with Samsung, whose Exynos chips rival Snapdragon processors in the Android space, and launch devices with these chips soon in 2021.

The first Pixel phones have two models, standard size and the extra-large XL version, and became available on October 4, 2016. These Pixel phones have an excellent and compact camera with a small image sensor and followed by the Pixel 2 and 2XL with the announcement of launching on October 4, 2017. This phone incorporated the Pixel Visual Core, which improved the image processing of the first generation Pixel. Then in 2018, Google shifted the launch date of Pixel 3 and 3XL to October 9; this phone is incorporated with neural core, with an increased focus on AI and machine learning and enhanced photography.

On October 15, 2019, Google launched the Pixel 4 and 4XL once again with the focus on photography, and AI continued with neural core assisted the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. And In 2020, the release date was a bit deviated. Pixel 5 became available on September 30, 2020. Google did the opposite of Apple. This deviation and the delay of products in 2020 were also due to the pandemic. The plans of top tech companies were in disorder. This year Pixel 6 is expected to arrive as early as late September and will follow the historical pattern. The release date may vary but is primarily predictable every year.

Google Pixel 6 And Google silicon

Pixel 6 will switch to custom silicon, and the main benefit will be greater control over the driver updates. Google no longer uses the Qualcomm processor; instead of that, Google will use its custom chip, internally known as Whitechapel, which is being coordinated with Samsung semiconductor’s system-large scale integration division, and this means Google may be sharing similarities to Samsung Exynos, including software components. The new chip may be supported for 5 generations of Android OS update compared to the present 3 generation update.

This time Google is actually proceeding with its own SoC, which will be the first proper mobile processor the company will have made. And this made it look completely new version with the new chip as compared to the previous models. Until now, Google has launched a new Pixel phone every year, and Pixel 6 is expected to come in the fourth quarter of 2021. On the basis of rumors, Google Silicon will be more remarkable computational photography, a more intelligent AI, and the long-lasting battery life on Pixel phones. Meanwhile, all these current rumors, Pixel fans, and the customers are already looking forward to the new silicon features and expecting a better processor.

Currently, there’s no information about the Pixel 6 launch date. However, we can only guess the arrival date in September, which is when the Pixel phones usually arrive. However, We are still waiting for the official information to get a better idea. We’d like to see Google improve the performance, especially smartphones, whether that’s by using better chips or by optimizing the processors.
