You are well familiar with the fact that Microsoft Office is the most basic tool used in corporate offices; however, its use is found in many industries such as the education industry, research industry, and marketing industry. The two of its widely used products are Office 2019 and Office 365.

The Microsoft Office is the most ubiquitous fundamental productivity tool present in industries all around the world; however, the tool isn’t just a single iteration. Instead of being a single version, the tool presents itself in a broad spectrum of options, which includes Office on phones (for both iPhone and Android), Office on laptops (including both Windows and Mac OS).

In other ways, you can also use the version of Microsoft Office, which offers just a few applications, and you also proceed to buy the product, which has the whole array of applications.

Nevertheless, at the very heart of everything, there are only two types of Microsoft Office products. One is the Office 2019, which arrived at the very end of the last decade, and Office 365, a well-known premium and subscription-based Office package, which arrived in the year 2011.

It can be a little tough to figure out the difference between the two software tools; however, there are certain variances with how they are and how they operate. We will take a look at the differences between the two software tools.

Distinction Between Office 365 and Office 2019

1) The primary difference between the two software tools is how they are bought. The payment system of Office 365 and Office 2019 is quite different. If you are looking for an analogy, you can imagine an instance where you are buying a vehicle and an instance where you are renting it. Microsoft Office 2019 is a premium set of office tools where you just need to buy it once and not worry about the updates and latest technologies. Instead, Office 2019 is a subscription-based software tool, and subscribing to it will enable you to avail yourself of the latest updates and innovations offered by Microsoft, which almost comes out every month.

2) The second difference is the advantage that Microsoft Office 365 has and Microsoft Office 2019 does not have. While using Microsoft Office 365, you will get to use a broad spectrum of the application, while Microsoft Office 2019 will just enable some basic tools. You also use Microsoft Office 365 on any device you have in your hand, while Microsoft Office 2019 just limits itself to just one device at a time.

3) The third difference is in the frequency of updates and how the two operate. Once you subscribe to Microsoft Office 365, you will, by default, see a lot of updates happening to your tools irrespective of that fact whether you like the updates or not. However, one facet that is very useful in Microsoft Office 365 is the existence of additional functions. For instance, you can choose the option of “PowerPoint Designer” while using Microsoft Office that will let you use the features of Artificial Intelligence, which will analyze your presentation and offer you some slides, which will make the presentation look more attractive and engaging.

Microsoft Plans

It has been made clear by Microsoft that their priority is Microsoft Office 365, and the company wants to shift the customers, who are still using the versions of 2010, 2013, or 2016. Only in the last month, the company released a video in which the three pairs of twins were seen competing against each other while using the services of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.

Conclusion

We should not get carried away with Microsoft’s marketing pitch and decide which product we wish to use based on the budget we have and what kind of frequency we want with our updates. However, it must be stated that Microsoft 365 will offer you more productivity based on the latest data that is available on the internet.
